From UK, though currently in Bangkok, considering buying ps3?

OK OK... a question probably asked a gazzilion times before..The thing is, the model here is 80GB and is under 300 quid. Well 270 to be exact , i know the games are region free, but will it play dvd's, and will it be online compatible ? Is there any other drawback to be taken into consideration ?

yea, no garantees it will work, plus you'll need to get a UK power brick, but if the console being sold in a realy , proper professional shop, then maybe get if worth it :P
