Driving on the right is one of the biggest mistakes ever made, why it is a mistake has been kept a secret from more people than any other mistake in history, it is quite wrong for right handed people to drive on the right.

When changing gear in the UK your left hand changes gear and your right hand stays on the steering wheel, (this is safer for right handed people, in the USA you hold the steering wheel with your left hand and change gear with your right hand.

Try mounting a bike in the USA and you will find yourself in the stream of traffic when getting on the bike, try mounting a bike in the UK, this is done from the sidewalk by right handed people.Perhaps a billion cyclists in right hand driving areas around the world are all risking their lives mounting their bike in traffic

Reversing in a USA car you must hold the steering wheel with your left hand and look over your right shoulder to look out of the rear window.

Right handed people are normally also "right eyed"they have the traffic coming toward them on their right in the UK, but traffic approaches from the left in USA & rhd areas. About 72% of people are right handed and right eyed.

Anyone with a left-hand drive car changes gear with the right hand. Full stop.

Two corrections to answers above:
1. In the USA, we usually do not mount our bike in the street. We usually mount the bike with the bike on the sidewalk and ride it into the street. This is illegal (our laws prohibit riding on the sidewalk), but very common.
2. In the USA, we usually use only one hand for driving. Sometimes, someone will steer with their knees if they need to take their driving hand off the steering wheel. However, most of us have automatic transmission and only shift gears when the car is stopped. Therefore, we do not need to steer and shift at the same time.

All right hand driving areas , also people getting onto bicycles in RHD areas are in the traffic if they are right handed. Reversing is much more difficult in rhd areas because of having to look over your right shoulder while holding the steering wheel in your left hand.

But hey, cheer up! driving on the right is correct for left handed people
