I want to transfer to UIC at the end of the semester for Fall '08

This is my 2nd year at a community college with a gpa of currently 3.3, I'm majoring in Business, and have one W on my transcript.

I have all A's and B's with one C.

I'm struggling in my earth science class, 63% D. I want to drop the class because I have to turn in my transcript during winter break (2 weeks) and I figured a W will look better then a D or F. Plus my gpa won't be lowered. If I have two W's, will I still have a chance of getting into UIC?

Your GPA is fine in terms of transferring. I just don't know how the CBA admissions committee views Ws. You can always attach an explanation about your grades to your appliations.

Look, you must try to apply for the transfer.

As long as no action is taken, you would not know the result.

So, start getting an application form. Fill it up and send it in.

If you did not get in, always find out from the university as the reason why and work on it.

Cheers.
