I have been making monthly payments to the creditors towards the balance that I owe which was about 300 dollars in the beginning. I recieved a letter awhile back saying that If I make my payments on time to the creditor that now deals with my Macy's account, I can have my account reinstated. I have been paying them on time, So I thought had about 80 dollars left to pay but i got a letter from the creditors saying " as per your request, we wish to advise you that your account with the above referenced client is now considered satisfied and has been closed in our office". So I don't know if I'm supposed to call Macy's to see if I can get my card reinstated???.Is it even possible to have a macy's card reinstated?...because that was part of the deal unless they were lying to me. Or should I just wait until I get another letter??. I don't know what to do??? Please Help.

Macy's is usually pretty good about reinstating cards that were paid off after a default.

Give them a call and speak to them about it. If they need the paperwork ask them for either their fax number or mailing address and send a copy.

When you call, if the CSR seems unhelpful, request to speak to supervisor. If the supervisor is unhelpful, ask to speak to an underwriter

Macy's will generally re-open credit accounts that were closed due to past due status once the balance is paid in full. Depending on how long you had the card and what your previous payment history was, they may or may not pull a credit report.

Worst case scenario they will tell you that you'd need to get a new account

Do yourself a favor, cut up all your credit cards! If you can't make payments on a three hundred dollar balance then you don't need a credit card for a luxury store like Macys.

Send a copy of the contract to Macy's and write it to be re=instated again. Use it more responsible this time.
Pay if off each month.

You should not reinstate it. No one needs a Macy's card.
