The Church has changed a lot according to my teacher. Especially in the 1970s. But what actually changed?

The Mass has changed and is no longer always in Latin. No longer can a Catholic go anywhere in the world and understand the Mass in the language of the Church. Now the Latin Mass is coming back to the relief of Catholics.
There are many more converts to Catholicism from Protestantism because of the constant drift of Protestantism towards humanism and liberalism. Many Protestant ministers are becoming Catholic priests for this reason and entire congregations are converting.

It crushed liberation theology, turned its back on Latin American thugs who funded the churches, and installed Cardinals around the world to ensure the church would go backwards, not forward.

My mother and some of my extended family were Catholic.
The mass was in Latin when I was kid .... I couldn't understand a freaking thing.
Not being allowed to eat meat on Friday was a big deal.
The church's marketing department got those items resolved.

The church apologized to Galileo in the 1990's and admitted that they were wrong when forbidding him to write about the fact that the Earth was revolving around the Sun...

They accepted evolution for the most part and the Big Bang.
Both positives, in my book, but their refusal to condone contraception in AIDS ridden Africa (in the form of condoms) is downright dangerous and inhumane.

in europe the biggest change is that most of them have closed down or been converted to computer gamestores or private houses.
