The world will end with the Second Coming of Christ during which there will be a great earthquake and everything will turn into ruins. The lost will die, and the saved will be taken to heaven to reign with Christ for a 1000 years.

But days before the Second Coming, there will be great chaos on the planet. The human race will go beyond the point of no return, and that is why Christ needs to intervene. The Bible says that if Christ's coming wouldn't happen, than no one would survive. (Matthew 24:22)

I recommend watching the amazing movie called "Final Events" which captures Earths' final moments, the rapture, tribulation, antichrist, etc. --

I also recommend watching the short presentation called "A Planet in Upheaval" which is the first in a series of five dealing with the Second Coming of Christ. Go to http://www.itiswritten.com/podcasts
find "The Appearing" and click on iTunes podcast.

Al-Qur'an
Surah 101, verses 1-111. The Striking Calamity

1.The Striking Calamity

2. What is the Striking Calamity?

3. And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?

4. It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,

5. And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.

6. Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],

7. He will be in a pleasant life.

8. But as for one whose scales are light,

9. His refuge will be an abyss.

10. And what can make you know what that is?

11. It is a Fire, intensely hot.

Al-Quran
Surah 99 verses 1-8

1. When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake

2. And the earth discharges its burdens

3. And man says, "What is [wrong] with it?"

4. That Day, it will report its news

5. Because your Lord has commanded it.

6. That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

7. So whoever does an atoms weight of good will see it,

8. And whoever does an atoms weight of evil will see it.

The world or earth may some day be nonexistence, but your life will end way before that

The world will not end.
God made it for a purpose.
As the home of righteous men. It is now home to some unrighteous ones.
It is THEY who will be eliminated, not the world itself.

(ISAIAH 45:18) For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.

(PSALM 37:9) For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.

(PSALM 37:11) But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(PSALM 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

(PSALM 37:34) Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see [it].

When the Bible says that heavens and earth will be burned up, it means governments and peoples. not the literal earth.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
