Research the heck out of it. Talk to people who are in the church and people who have left the church. Make sure it's a decision that you want to make before you actually do it, and that the decision was well-thought out. Make sure you've taken everything into consideration, and researched alternate systems of belief before putting all your faith in one of them.

First of all, Not all Christians are real Christians. Alot of people proclaim to be Christian, but they are not. They have been deceived. There are many false Preachers and Teachers and even False Priests.
It all depends on who you ask. If you ask a Protestant, you will get their inturpatation. If you ask a Catholic, they will tell you something different. The main thing is to focus on God and Jesus Christ. Not the "Church." Some churches try to give you their own Christianity and it's man-made. They have all kinds of Pagon beliefs in their religion. Check out Christian web sites of different faiths and see which one you want. But whichever one you choose, it would be wise to find someone who believes in Jesus Christ and that Jesus is the Son Of God.

Becoming a Christian is the easy part- staying committed to Christ is sometimes not so easy.

1- admit that you are a sinner
2- confess and repent of your sins
3- accept Christ as full payment for your sins
This is a free gift given to you by God- however you must also after accepting this gift, allow the Holy Spirit to change you into the person that the Lord created you to be. If you have any questions feel free to email

Thank you so much for wanting to be Christian. I would start by praying, just when you feel like it, and you feel the time is right. Just go somewhere quite and pray, God and Jesus, would be very very happy and pleased that you have found them. Then I believe that you should go to a church just walk in, they will welcome you, then i suggest you go talk to the Priest about wanting to become Christian.

Good luck :)

How about finding a Church and asking the people there.

I would say start by reading the Bible, but the Bible is what turned me off to Christianity.

Research some of the larger denominations and see which one lines up with your world view. Once you find the one that you want to check out, look up the name of the denomination on Yahoo Yellow Pages and give them a call, or just show up at their next meeting (times and days will probably be listed on the sign in front of the building).

If you just show up, make sure that you stick around after Church to talk to the pastor/preacher/priest, and tell him that you want to convert. You will probably have to interact with the other members yourself. (Most of them will feel as shy as you do, and won't necessarily know how to approach a new face - don't think that means they are stuck up.)

My recommendations: Look for an Orthodox, Roman Catholic or Episcopalian Church. But like I say, try to find something that suits your ideas. If your first Church doesn't seem like a good fit, don't be afraid to shop around.

A true Christian is one who follows int he footsteps of Christ, closely.
So, you must get to know him, understand his teachings, accept the Bible as God's word just as he did, and apply it's teachings in your life. In order to do all that, one needs to ask his guidance, and have a thorough study of God's word.

The Bible-based articles listed as sources below can help you get started:

Believe and have faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. That He died on the Cross for your sins and if you believe in Him you will be saved(See John 3:16)

And one major thing to keep in mind is to make sure that you show your faith by your works.Once you believe you need to demonstrate your faith by the things that you do.

James 2:26-As the body without the spirit is dead;so faith without works is dead also.

Just pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart, and once you feel the truth, you can consider yourself a Christian.
