glycerin suppositories- they only take about 10-60min to work and dont have any laxative side effects, dont interfere with your intestines.
make sure you consume 25-35g of fiber a day and at least 64oz of water.

I am an intermittent faster. My first meal is about 2:00 in the afternoon. This gives me about a 20 hour fast after my last meal which is usually at 6:00 the previous day. Fasting allows the digestive process to be complete. Some foods can take up to 3 days to become fully digested although I would never go 3 days without eating. But the system needs a break. Now back to my first meal of the day. I go to the bathroom one hour following my first meal, like clockwork. I also eat a low carb diet where I consume a healthy amount of normal everyday fats. I believe that my all around lifestyle contributes to my all around regularity. Fiber irritates the lining of the bowel. This irritation is what causes water to be directed to this area, flushing out the wastes. But eventually this irritation will cause more problems than remedies. Fats and oils on the other hand acts as a lubricant which allows the waste to "slide" right through. This is why mineral oil can be used as a laxative. I have never been so predicatably regular in my whole life. Not only am I regular, I know when I will go and sometimes I am even surprised with having to go 2 times in a day.

I eat lots of low glycemic fruits and vegetables ( 95% of the earth's vegetables are low glycemic ). I also consume protein ( eggs, meat, fish, fowl etc ) I consume a healthy amount of fats including real cream in my coffee, butter, coconut oil, peanut oil, olive oil.

This is a true story. I began low carbing 5 years ago. I am relaying my experience. I began intermittent fasting this April. Regularity improved once my body became accustomed to the new diet it improved even more when I reduced the frequency of my meals.

Have you spoken to a doctor about this? Sometimes reactions to certain foods (like dairy) can cause a person to be constipated all of the time. You might also have already become dependent on the laxatives. What I like to do when I have trouble going is to drink orange juice or eat a large salad.

Try a stool softener instead of laxatives. Try colace, it won't hurt you to take this on a long term basis and you can take as much as you need to get the desired effect.

Eat lots of berries and prunes. High in vitamins and anti-oxidants. See if that helps any.
