Every morning for the past month my feet have been hurting every time i wake up. This has never happened to me before. I am 23 yr. old. I have been wanting to go to my doctor but my health insurance has expired. After i walk for like 3-5 minutes it goes away. I have seen another question like this in here but the person has not responded. Does anyone know what it could be.

Try some arch supports and a better quality shoe.

If that doesn't help, see a podiatrist or your family physician.

23 is a little young to have diabetes, but that or some other circulation disease may be causing insufficient blood flow to your feet. Google on diabetes and see if any of the symptoms sound like you. Overweight is one of the symptoms. Here is a quick test (maybe of no value, but then it is free). Use your thumb to press hard on the skin of the foot, then pull it back. You should see a white print, where the pressure has forced the surface blood out of the skin. Now watch it return to natural color. Shouldn't take more than about 2-4 seconds. If it takes longer, you may have a circulation problem.

... well I'm no medical technician, and you should get professional oppinion. but if you would like to know a neet fact that might have something to do with your problem is that your body slows down when you sleep; including blood flow. That's why most people that have a heart attack have them when they first wake up in the morning cause their blood pressure is low from sleeping. It could be you just have poar circulation in the mornings till your body wakes up.... or you could have something really serious like a blood clot.. XD thought if it's just pins and needles as pain it's probly nothing. though pain is an indicator from your body that something is wrong. you shouldn't take an answer from somone off yahoo as a diagnosis to your problem.

hmmm, so what i think is that its probably because of being too cold, or the position you sleep in

whatever it might be, it goes away after waking up for ~3 minutes

thats definately nothing serious

finding out what it really is is up to you

just look at it when it hurts, what condition, position, temperature or surrounding its in, and notice what changes when you get up before it goes away

it depends on your life style. do you wear high heels every day. i once got relly sore feet from sport and apparently it was because i had rolled in feet. my dad had it as well so if it starting to annoy you heaps maybe get it checked out. im not a doctor and it really does depend on your life style

could be the way you're laying. i know if i lay in certian positions my feet ache when i wake up. try forcing yourself to lay in a different position (for example if you normally lay on your back, duct tape a tennis ball to the back of your pj's. it'll be uncomfortable and 'force' you to lay on your side.
