Temp jobs are good for finding what you seek. You get hooked up with employers who have a need to get a backlog of work done, and you usually just crank the letters out. Since nobody knows you well and you're "the temp," you are mostly ignored by most people at the office. I had a job once at an insurance office where they had literally hundreds of personalized letters to be typed. It only took me a couple weeks, but that's all I did for those 2 weeks.

Be sure you get a job just typing. Sometimes temps are pressed into other unpleasant jobs, like receptionist. Being a temp receptionist is the craziest and most annoying thing in the world, because the temp doesn't know how the office works, and doesn't know anybody, and is therefore clueless when answering the phone and assisting visitors.

BTW, the term used these days for what you want to do is "document production." I wish you the best finding what you want.

I had a job once where I typed all day and it was typing handwritten notes from labs that analysed core samples from drilling machines. But typing numbers and equations and symbols was a bit boring and there was no outside window. If you work for a mining company you can type reports all day every day of what is happening out there in the field, so the investors can be kept up to date, and the people who need to know how the mines are going can calculate how many more staff to send there and how much food etc. All very boring work. But after a while, oil or gold or something is found and then you all go out to long lunches and get strippers into the office and go on boat trips and redecorate the office with lovely furniture. Then back to the typing till another strike.

Then there are serviced offices, where there are about 30 small businesses in a building who hire one typist and one receptionist. There is variety in the work but of course you are dealing with 30 different people, instructing you. They are trying to build their businesses up so they don't have time to muck you around too much.

If you work in a typing bureau, the boss will take in work and talk to the customers and place the work in your in basket with clear instructions, so you only have to liase with your boss. You could start your own typing bureau by advertising that you will do typing, but then you will have to speak to the customers.

There used to be bunches of data entry jobs but data collection has become more sophisticated. You could consider the proving department in a bank. There are several machines in the room and they're not exactly quiet but some people who are accustomed to the work listen to music on their headphones all through the shift. The pay is not very impressive but a bank will review your salary once or twice a year and give you some little increases. Sometimes there is a small premium added to your pay for performing above a reasonable quota. The benefits may be really good.

It's numeric entry but if you practice on the number pad on your computer, you'd probably exceed the required speed by a wide margin.

You could also visit every temporary agency in your town and tell them exactly what you're seeking. They get all kinds of requests.

Data entry. Word processor. Court Reporter. The person that transcribes the closed captions on TV. Medical or legal transcriptionist (you type what the doctor has recorded in all of his appointments, usually the whole office visit plus notes). A variety of other secretarial positions...

Go to Kelly services, they are international...or look for a staffing agency that does mostly office work where they will give you a typing test if you don't have experience :)

Talking and communicating with other people is a life skill that gets easier with practice, and makes life much easier and richer. Try not to give up on something just because you find it difficult to do - there's so much to be gained from being with other people and you can do that quietly - not everyone needs to be the centre of attention - some people like good listeners the most, because it gives them chance to talk more!
My daughter thought she wanted to do the work you describe as a career as she's a very fast typist and took a job in college holidays doing data entry - in 3 weeks she was bored to tears, and realised her mistake. Maybe typing will suit you as you love it, but don't shy away from working with other people; if we gave up on difficult stuff, many of us would never drive, swim, cook, stay married, walk even! Good luck.

Apply at a newspaper for:
Copy editor
commercial typist
journalist

Go to a hospital, doctor office or law firm and apply for data entry clerk.

You could also look on-line. There are a lot of at home things you can do like data entry, transcriptionist, or there's even a thing I've heard of where typist are hired to convert text book stories into brail for text books for the blind.

Good luck I hope that helps

You are a very fast typist. Unfortunately there are very few straight typing or data entry jobs around any more like there were 35 years ago before PC's became so common. Jobs usually have more of a variety of duties now.

Good luck.

I think you need to do data entry. I am sure there are lots of those - just go to an employment agency and tell them you have a good typing speed, I'm sure they'll find you something.
Might be a good idea to get over the shyness though.

Yes, there are a few jobs but you still deal with people, not a lot of people. you can be a Secretary, sort story writer,or even a novelist. those are some i can think of. if look hard enough there should be a few more.
Good luck
