One of the ways to become mentally stronger is to remember how something bad made you feel, and vow not ever to feel that way again. Remember, no one can make you mad, sad, happy, or bored. You control your emotions and the way things make you feel. Do you control your emotions? or do you let others control your emotions.

People react to things in very different ways. That saying 'That which does not kill us makes us stronger' was taken from a person who learned from their mistake and kept the knowledge for future reference. When you get hurt, slapped for instance, it is painful every time, yet if you get slapped more than once in the same spot it will dull after a while because the pain is the same and you become more in sync with the constant beating. If you choose to take each experience and use the knowledge gained from that, you may make your future experiences less painful. That is to say, if you do not have a whole mess of sensitivity. There are people who just react the same each time the same thing happens to them. It isn't to say that person is less strong, or 'weak' as most people say, it's just that person is on a different tune than other people. You need to find your boundaries and what breaks you more than anything else. It's hard to say how a person will be affected by what unless they are examined by a mental physician, or someone who is in the mental health path, but in any case it depends on the person. 'So if that bad times comes again, you dont get as mad and as sad?' That isn't necessarily truth because people will have different feelings as they grow up and become different people. Experiences are what make a person, the experiences you have are really what are going to determine the answer completely. I'm sorry this was so long, and I know it probably makes no sense seeing as I ramble a lot o_O but eh, I hope it helped ^-^ Good luck with your question and answers~ ^-^

It really depends a lot on the individual and what actually happened to them. Because some things can actually make the person weaker and more vulnerable. Stuff like torture makes the majority weaker mentally..

But for everyday happenings the thing that makes one mentally stronger is to accept it, move on, and know what to do to counter it next time it happens. Like learning not to let your gaurd down and be vulnerable or not to take things more seriously than it should be taken. Knowing and acknowledging the truth no matter what someone else says to you.
Most of all, learn not to regret things. Regret is what really gets you down and prevents you from moving on because you keep looking back on a mistake. Keep your head up, and looking forward, cause thats the only direction you're ever moving. Not much point in staring on a place behind you that you can't ever go back to.
Stay optimistic.

I took a class in college that teaches you how powerful positive thinking is. If you always tell yourself positive things (about yourself, life, work, family) then the positive will be the main thing you see. The catch is, it's the same for negative thinking. You'll notice that negative people are never happy.

Stay positive.

You just have to realize that pain and heartache and misfortune are just part of life. Everyone experiences those things in one way or another. You will get just as mad and sad sometimes, but it's easier to move on when you realize that it's part of life. Not just for you, but that everyone has their own tragedies. And realize, also, that there's good things waiting for you, too.

*thenks about it* ..ive suffered before, and i thenk, its more about how u handle what u can control, and accepting what u cant, and not being hard on urself about it. when soemthing hurts us, we have to admit that it hurts us, let it hurt us, not let people hurt us, but if we are hurting, its dangerous to pretend we are not. aceppt the emotions that u cant stop, its ur right to feel those emotions. what u can control is how u handle the pain, i find the more strongly u belive in truth, and that u were wronged, not of ur own fault, the better it is.
aheh, soree if i wusnt much help but i tried *scratches head an smiles sheepishlee* ♥

I think you have to travel the world.. Seeing how other live can change your for the better. It gives you a better appreciation for things. I've travel all over the world, so when it comes down to, little things don't bother me. I am happy for what i have, and thankful for what I have been given. (not materialistically)
