this is the third time this yr first she started laying in autumn then in spring she layed 6 eggs and now shes started again and its summer shes in a cage with no other birds adn she rubs her but up against the cadge dad after about 2 weeks throws them out cause there not changing in colour there pink colour plz help its my little sisters bird

its very common for a female bird to do this. there doesnt have to be another bird around. I had a parakeet that LOVED his plastic bird wayy too much LOL. Sad to say your little sister will have to deal with it unless she gets a proven male bird.

It is in the nature of female birds to lay eggs. That's the way of Mother Nature.

Yes, a female bird will lay eggs even if there is no male present. This is how chicken hens lay the eggs that people eat. We had a lovebird who laid eggs & this is how I realized that she was a girl ;-)

female birds will lay eggs even if they aren't fertilized. The male is throwing them out because they are not fertilized. They will not hatch.
