III. TRUE GOD AND TRUE MAN
464 The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human. He became truly man while remaining truly God. Jesus Christ is true God and true man.

Not an easy question to answer.
The Christians will tell you that he is in fact a demi-god, because he is the son of God but God is the only god. Or they'll tell you about that holy trinity thing where it's the father the son and the holy something-or-other (spirit).
My personal belief is that Jesus was just a regular guy. In fact, in the area that he comes from Jesus was probably a common name, so really there are many Jesus'. But whether there was one or many, his preaching to the crowds and death on a cross made him pretty famous - no wonder those Christians love him.

Muslims believe he is a human being a chosen person. They believe his birth was a miracle by God. God has the power to bestow someone with miracles. If he was a God, he would not have been crucified but then again Muslims belief God picked him up to heaven and instead someone else was crucified.

His name is Jesus of Nazareth. Christ is a term that means MESSIAH. Christ is his title that his followers give him.
You have to decide if you believe the bible record of his actions, and also the non-religious records as well. Jesus of Nazareth did perform miracles, he did make predictions that came true, he was executed on a Roman cross, and his tomb was found to be empty.
Most consider this to proof enough of his god status.

After the crucifixion he made it quite clear. Instead of declaring "Godship" to his disciples... he gave Mary Magdalene a message... tell my BROTHERS.... and so on.
God is his father, but every human being is a Child of God. Read the story of the Prodigal Son.
Eternal life has no starting point. The eternal life so many people are waiting for is already there. "Worship in Spirit" and discover what is already there.
