aSalaam aleykuim.

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam..

I wept when I read this.. the Wahabbi regime in Saudi Arabia wishes to destroy the birthplace of the Phrophet Mohammed (pbuh) and replace with a parking lot, shopping mall, and luxory condo

Already they leveled the "Jannat al-Baqi" at Medina that included graves of the Prophet Muhammad's son Ibrahim, as well as numerous of the Prophet's relatives and original companions. They also looted the Prophet's Shrine in Medina and demolished the cemetery in Mecca that included the graves of Muhammad's mother and grandfather.
They destroy the mosque of Abu Bakr and turn Khadija's house into a latrine

HOW CAN WE ALLOW THIS?

O.K i will not use term Wahhabi, if you do not like it. I never knew it was offensive. Forgive me.

But this is not about worshiping on grave's. I do not do that but I still love our history...

What can be reason for destorying our beautiful heritage? Why are we so relaxed about this?
If it was America doing this we would be up in arms

i heard that they even tore down Prophet Muhammeds house a few decades ago because they think people will somehow worship it. It really does bring tears to your eyes how corrupted and disgusting these people are. They are erasing the history of Islam.

Take yourself off to a good second-hand bookshop, or see if you can find anything to download. The National Geographic bound volumes are what you need. The ones published long, long ago show the tombs of the Prophet's family in Mecca.

The answer to your question is that Saudi Arabia is currently run by a criminal regime, or Royal Family, or ruling tribe of some 5000 members, who know they were nearly toppled in 1979, and (my belief) again in 2001. When an organisation whose stated aim is their removal flew planes at buildings in the USA. They fund that organisation to keep them from doing what they should do.

Eh? What is an "Islamic site?" There are churches being bulldozed in the UK and across the world to make way for other buildings - it's just human development. There are more and more Muslims in the Mecca site each year, so it needs to be made bigger -historical buildings or no historical buildings.

I believe The Saudian Government knows best. And since the scholars have been consulted, then we should have no worries about it. Remember, these are "sites" that have historical values. But there exist groups that gave these sites a more then appropriate respect for it. So they(the Saudis) must do what it takes to safe keep the peoples Faith in the one True God. That is the major importances.

Well, that is as much as I can get of why they, the Saudian Government, did it. More then that I cannot say.

Thanks for the info....had no clue! but to be fair the "Saudi Government" spends appx USD 50MM in goods and services to accompdate Hajjaj and Ummra visitors. I am not saying they are perfect by all means, they cannot even maintain the roads properly in Jeddah ! but looking at the bigger picture they are very supporting as custodians.

She said, 'Surely, the kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and turn the highest of its people into the lowest. And thus they always do;

And when he is in authority, he runs about in the land to create disorder in it and destroys the tilth and the progeny of man; and Allah loves not disorder.

The Arabs of the desert are the worst in disbelief and hypocrisy, and most apt not to know the ordinances of the Revelation which Allah has sent down to His Messenger. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.

I agree with Kimo. these are all muslim's precious assets. they better take care of them for our sake. But if they have already taken the decision, then.....

And I'm not even happy with the sparkles which they have given to Madina, turning it into Modern life styles. That smell of Madina, that dustiness and that not fully painted houses are precious for us. hmmmm real beauty~!

saudis spend billions on keeping the holy sites intact and the pilgrims safe.
have you gone yourself to hajj? i have and was even helped by locals in the holy mosque in makkah. they just don't want people to pray to graves as marhama mentioned . they wouldn't desecrate graves or loot a mosque they spent billions on renovating and expanding.
i suggest you visit the place before relying on those who call them "wahabbis" which is very rude and shows hatred towards true muslims.

First you should learn about the basics in Islam like the basic/main terms.
There is no such thing like wahhabism as you said. I am sick and tired that sufis tag pious people with this name. Some of the ppl started to call and tag me a wahhabi too because i pray the obligatory prayers and i even perform Sunnah and i pray Witr (it is a must) and i pray night prayer and i fast every other day. This is not wahhabism, this is the way it should be!!
i think you don't know about saudi at all!!
