Lets be honest here: if you're a regular on this forum, you've seen that very few Christians know the Bible. That's indisputable. Yet they obsess over homosexuality, which one would think to be an issue that doesn't concern them.

Why, in your opinion, do they do that?

know thats ironic, I'm a Christian. I know the bible. but for me times change, and although it may be "wrong" i still accept it & embrace it. but to answer your question- a lot. i mean a lot of Christians believe what they are just told don't try to look for answers in the bible, thus they don't know much of the bible- just the gust of it. they know whats kinda right. kinda wrong, and w/ that they try to set out to prove others wrong when in turn they should pull the plank of wood out of their eye b4 they touch the speck of dust in other's eyes. ; )

Not all Christians obsess over homosexuality, and the Bible never actually says that homosexuality is wrong. Just that sodomy is. I personally think that homosexuals cannot help how they feel and who they are attracted to. Yes, I am a Christian and I have several friends that are homosexual. I don't look down on them or treat them any differently than I did before I knew they were gay. Anyway, I know that there are a lot of Christians out there that are hypocrites, but please don't judge an entire religion based on the words/actions of a minority of the whole.

There are a lot of people that have good intentions and think they are really trying to help "save" the person. Unfortunately many of their methods leave a lot to be desired. And are just not biblical practices.

While granted the bible does speak against homosexuality, it also speaks, in the same verse, against idolaters, adulterers, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers.
(1 Corinthians 6:9-10 if anyone is curious.) Let me repeat that, IN THE SAME VERSE, thus makes each equally wrong.

Many like to pick on one issue and forget to do something about other areas and help the person that is looking back at them in the mirror. Perhaps that comes from insecurity or lack of self confidence. Or perhaps it is just the people have been misguided.

What so many groups have forgotten is that christianity is not about forcing or making people to convert with clubs and whips. It is suppose to be about fellowship, helping everyone to become better people, helping each other though difficult times and helping each of us become closer to Our One True Creator. If the groups would just remember the basics and follow the practices taught by Jesus I think it would be a lot easier for most people to understand and accept Our Creator for what he really is.

Unfortunately there are so many groups that have been led astray and are, granted unintentionally, but are following the ways of the devil. (for their methods only serve to push people away from Our Creator)

And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. (2Co 11:14)

Which is why I always try to remind people learning about Our One True Creator:

Never confuse the practices of the people with the church,
Never confuse the practices of the church with religion,
And Never Ever confuse the practices of religion with God.

May Our Creator bless and watch over you and your family.

I've not been a regular on this forum, so I can't comment directly on posts here by Christians on homosexuality.

However, I can say that homosexuality is brought up alot to Christians on college campuses. In that environment, homosexuality is accepted/proven to be okay.

To not accept homosexuality is tantamount to racism. So nonchristians use homosexuality as ”evidence" that the Bible is wrong and evil.

Homosexuality is brought up all the time to Christians to stifle witnessing and to criticize them.

As far as on this forum, I've read 100s of posts and I see some that appear to be fiction. I wouldn't be surprised if a certain number of posts are by pretend Christians trying to look stupid or possessed by the homosexuality issue.

I, personally think, that the Apostle Paul, sums it up quite nicely, in reference to the church membership at Corinth. Here, Paul, makes a very pointed statement when he addressed the problem of a fellow Christian taking another Christian brother into a court of law. In Chapter 6, of First Corinthians, verse 9, Paul lists the sins which can cause a Christian to miss out on the Kingdom of God. Included is a reference to "homo sexual" practices re, "abusers of themselves with man kind". ... And here's the clincher: read in the first part of verse 11, "And such were some of you"... The word "homo sexual" actually comes from the Latin word "homo" meaning, "man". The point being made by Paul is not only, homo sexual enactments will prevent a person from accessing the Kingdom of God BUT so will excessive drinking, fornication, etc., etc. It is sure very odd how SEX sins are always the one thing generally focused on by society. Lieing, stealing, etc. are just as bad ... and most people do lie or even, covet.

because xstians are not gay and that lifestyle conflicts with what the bible says is a marriage.if they would just get thier heads out of thier arses and realize they are reading a cryptic book thats 2000 years old and they had no technology in the days that it was written and alll the stories in it are just that, stories and they had no other way to explain things well maybe then they would be more tolerable???

I agree with your point, although I have to point out that many atheists say there is nowhere in the bible that says homosexuality is wrong, so obviously they haven't read it either.

I think some of them honestly believe they will be able to "save" a gay person by continually telling them they are wrong. I think the other half just are bigoted and are using religion to hide behind.
