I use one if I had put clean clothes on and don't want to get the clothes dirty when cooking! Once I forgot to take the apron off when I went to the store! It's not often that I wear an apron!

Aprons are pretty much out for most female home cooks these days, since they are perhaps viewed by some women as relics of the fifties and sixties housewife mentality. Somewhat suprisingly, though, it seems that aprons for the (barbeque inclined) male have grown in popularity as most women have put them aside. But with fasion turning to retro looks, maybe try some aprons with sixties-esque flower prints. And every apron needs a pocket!

I personally don't wear an apron but I thin it would be a cute idea to sew some up for the craft fair! but limit yourself to just that try pot holders, kitchen towels, maybe aprons and cute little chef hats for kids that like to help mom in the kitchen! thatall would be really cute!

Even though most of us don't wear them all of the time, we have them.
If you are going to make aprons be sure they have extra long ties so that the wearer can wrap them around and tie them in front. This way you can easily hang a kitchen town from it. It is just one of the things I look for when I buy an apron. I also like to have a pocket or two.
Good luck.

I wear aprons if I like the clothes I am wearing! I wear aprons to eat in sometimes if I have on a really nice shirt or top.
Make the kind with bibs, or the Kimono style ones... they're great for cooking and cleaning! Make up matching pot holders, oven mitts, place-mats, and napkins. People like the whole mix'n'match thing. Find nice calico pre-quilted fabric and go for it. I'd buy!

you could sew up some oven mitts. I don't think alot of ppl wear the aprons, but I actually have some friends that do.. especially oldler ppl that go to craft fairs. I think it would be worth it. Just add cute and funny stuff to them llike, kiss the cook, or something of that nature.

You don't see people wearing aprons much anymore, but I still do on certain occasions, like when I'm having a cookout. I have one that has turkeys on it and for Christmas I have one that looks like a Santa suit it's red with white trim with a black buckle on it, it even has a hat to match. I got it at a Flea market. Go for it you will be surprise how many people still buy them even if they don't wear them a lot. good luck & lots of fun.

I always wear a big chef's apron. Never have to look for a kitchen towel, and can use it in a pinch as a pot holder.
