do a lot of people here just need to lighten up? I realize that this section deals with serious topics, but honestly. Some of the answers are just insults, threats, and sarcasm. I'll admit, some of it's mine and some of it's hilarious. Am I the only one that thinks people need to lighten up a bit?

Well, a reasoned response is not something that many people are capable of.

We have people of almost all religious beliefs as well as those who have no theological belief at all, that answer these questions. Therefore, we have a whole range of beliefs, some of which are from people in some extremely intolerant religions.

Unfortunately, many of those intolerant religions are the largest, most politically connected ones.

And you are right; People do need to lighten up and just think before they start flaming others for their beliefs and questions.

I think "lighten up", means to explode.....I don't mind but there is a limit to insults and sarcasm that turns into being disrespctful to others religions and making a mockery of beliefs.

The sarcasm is part of the 'lightening up".

i understand atheists being more strict. they are always defending their beliefs from others and dealing with insults. in order to lighten up, people need to be thoughtful of each other.

Yeah, I love sarcasm and I think that people need to have a thicker skin. I'm naturally a sarcastic person and I rarely use it to intentionally hurt a person.

yes BUT people on the other side of the spectrum should probably learn to be a little bit more respectful. If we could just have everyone budge a little it'd be a perfect place.

Where else do you think people are going to have the strongest opinions "Cars and Transportation"?? :-)

You need to lighten up.. people's opinions are all that they are.. opinions.

WE are the ones who decide how opinions affect us or not.

Take it easy, and enjoy the show. We are not here to change minds, lifestyles, or beliefs, but rather to enjoy making fun of one another.
