It might not be bad before drinking but not after, I don't think.

My friends and I(4 of us counting myself) were drinking a fifth of Bombay sapphire and chasing it with 7 up. By the time the bottle was even close to empty, the 7 up was gone. So, I went to the kitchen to look for more soda but all I found was milk... Long story short, yes milk works as a chaser, so well in fact that I couldn't taste the alcohol. I would never use it as a chaser, though, unless it was the only thing I had. It also depends on if you're the type of person that can stomach just about anything.

I have not tried it, but knowing that milk can ease the burn from spicy foods, I would think that milk as a chaser would be nice. It my not taste good with the alcohol, but it would get rid of the after burn. Try it. I suppose that's the best advice I can give.

For the majority of alcohols, milk wouldn't be a good chaser. If you do want to do it anyway, a good rule of thumb would be; if milk wouldn't taste good mixed with the alcohol (I.e. beer, gin) don't use milk as a chaser.

I've made the mistake of drinking milk after alcohol. Alcohol is acidic which doesn't work too well with milk. So, if you're drinking alcohol, limit the amount of milk you drink to only a glass or two at most.

I am sipping my night cap of a white russion. [half and half(half milk-half cream), vodka and kahlua] does that answer your question. sip!!! Just have it as a dessert sometimes lol. I am a bit older now (only have one at time)but in my younger days I could down about 7 or more of these. sometimes got sick but I think It was due to the amount of alcohol I was consuming.
