Man, I'm sure glad I'm not your kid. Is there something wrong with you that you can't chase your child around or are you just lazy?

My advice is get off your butt and do what's right for your kid. You brought him into this world. You are responsible!

Sorry, you won't like this answer, but it's good advice.

Chuckie Cheese is good about the stamps. There's no need to have to chase them around at this age (unless they get stuck in the hamster tube and if they do just ask an older child to coax them down.). They wouldn't even listen to someone who wanted to get them outside. At this age they want to have fun and run around. Let them, it's his birthday. The parents will understand if you take the presents home. Just make sure you send thank you's and get the food wrapped up. Don't stress. Let them have cake, ice cream and sing happy birthday. If you make it a sit down thing, I don't think they'll have any good memories in the future. Get you cameras out and sit back and enjoy what fun they are having. At this age, they just want to play and socialize. Let them have fun and enjoy, but carry a lot of anti-biotic wipes....that place is such a germ magnet. Good luck and have fun.

There are places that are similar to Chuckie Cheese but not as crazy, like the Gymboree. I think Gymboree would even be much safer. There are games and toys but it is set up in a way where you can let him loose and do not have to chase him. Also when it is time for food and cake, there is a seperate room for that.
I actually hate the idea of Chuckie Cheese. It is too loud, too many flashy lights and I would be afraid of my kid being kidnapped because it is so hard to keep track of them there.

The positives are that the kids will have fun...and you won't have to clean up after...the negatives, it's expensive and can be crowded and chaotic. As for presents, I'd open them at home. You could see if there is some sort of toddler gym or dance place that offers kids' parties...it might not be sooo crowded and ask some of the parents to stay and help you.

Actually I did have my daughters 3 year Birthday at Chucky Cheese. I thought it was great. She loved riding the Barney ride and other small kid rides. Sure the pizza isn't all that great but she loved it when Chucky Cheese came out to sing to her. And it was nice having no mess to clean up. We ended up opened gifts at home instead of there.

Kids love chuck e cheese. But just be careful, cause they also go nutz in there and accidents can happen. My niece fell down from a game there and had to be taken to the hospital. Kinda hard to watch the kids playing when you are at the table eating. But yeah, CEC is def a fun place, just get someone to watch the kids at all times...one never knows what can happen in that place.

Having a party at Chucky Cheese for a 3 yr old is too much work. Wait til he's 5 for a party there.
Have his party at home, then you & your husband take him (only him, or maybe 1 of his pals if he really plays with anyone) to Chucky Cheese after the party. THAT will be fun for all!

At 3 years old kids SHOULD be running around and playing games at their birthday party....I just don't think it should be at a Chuck E Cheese. That place is a germ factory, and almost always has unsanitary conditions throughout the entire place including the kitchen. Not to mention all the things you hear about people finding hypodermic needles full of drugs and dirty diapers at the bottom of their ball pits and moon bounces. EWWWW!

No, Chuck E Cheese is a bad idea. He can run and play at the park just as easily!

well the good thing about chuck-e-cheese is that they dont let just anyone take a baby outside so its pretty safe to let them run around but to insure that he's safe have the birthday party not at their busiest times (you can call to see what time they are more slow during the weekend) and work around that, that way all the kids can run around and have a good time and the parents can relax!
