Some say its GOD or Jesus Christ or Holy Spirit.

But i want to get this point clear. Hebrews chp 7 clearly explains who is M?

Hints:
Think about the Triune God - (have no beginning of days nor end of life.)

Priest of the Most High God... - (therefore not GOD the Father)

Like unto the Son of GOD.. (Jesus) - (therefore cannot be Jesus Christ)

-- THEN, who is Melchizedek?

Dont be carried away by someone saying. Rely everything based on the WORD OF GOD, The Bible in your hands.

I have referred everything from Hebrews chp 6,7,8 - Mainly chp 7...

God Bless

I was thinkin' the same thing as I read your question. It makes good spiritual sense, though I've not really gotten anything absolute from the Lord on the matter. I sure have been curious about Him too. It's nice to see others 'diggin' for treasures" in God's Word. If you come up with anything I'd be interested to hear what it is. Sincerely, Rose

Melchizedek was a gentile priest who worshiped the true God at a time when very few did.He served in Salem(Jerusalem) which was run by the Jebusites at the time. He recognized that Abraham worshiped the same God as he did. No one knew his genealogy, that's why it says with out mother or father. He was a "Type" of Christ but not the pre-incarnate Christ. For that you would have to read about the several encounters people had with "The Angel of the Lord"(not an angel but The Angel) He appeared to Abraham a few times, to Jacob( a wrestler) to Samson's parents, to Joshua, to Gideon and a few other places. That was the pre-incarnate Jesus,Melchizedek was an ordinary guy used by the Lord.
He was an example of a priest and a king which the Levitical priesthood could never do.Therefore looking forward to a change when one day there would be a priest king as David prophesied,Jesus the Son of the most high.

Melchezedek is the High Priest & King who blessed Abraham & who Abraham gave a 10th (tythe) to.

Jesus Christ is our High Priest & King forever after the Order of Melchezedek. Because he shed his own blood for remission of our sins once & for all. He received the title of High Priest & King because he obeyed His Fathers will even to suffer the cross for us. It is written in the stars for Him to do this. It happend 3/33 AD. There was an eclips & blood moon.

The bible has a mystery in it of who is Melchizedek. I think this might be Jesus back then too. But If he can't be Jesus back then, he obviously knew Jesus back then. He is a man who was anointed of the LORD God to be the High Priest & King of the LORD. He is an example of who would be the High King & Priest & our Savior. Abrahams decendents of the Promise is the Jews. And the Law came from Moses. Grace & Truth by Jesus Christ.

King of ancient Salem and “priest of the Most High God,” Jehovah. (Ge 14:18, 22) He is the first priest mentioned in the Scriptures; he occupied that position sometime prior to 1933 B.C.E. Being the king of Salem, which means “Peace,” Melchizedek is identified by the apostle Paul as “King of Peace” and, on the basis of his name, as “King of Righteousness.” Ancient Salem is understood to have been the nucleus of the later city of Jerusalem, and its name was incorporated in that of Jerusalem, which is sometimes referred to as “Salem.” Ps 76:2.

After Abram (Abraham) defeated Chedorlaomer and his confederate kings, the patriarch came to the Low Plain of Shaveh or “the king’s Low Plain.” There Melchizedek “brought out bread and wine” and blessed Abraham, saying: “Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, Producer of heaven and earth; and blessed be the Most High God, who has delivered your oppressors into your hand!” At that Abraham gave the king-priest “a tenth of everything,” that is, of “the chief spoils” he had acquired in his successful warfare against the allied kings.

How was it true that Melchizedek had ‘neither beginning of days nor end of life’?

Paul isolated an outstanding fact respecting Melchizedek, in saying of him: “In being fatherless, motherless, without genealogy, having neither a beginning of days nor an end of life, but having been made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually.” (Heb 7:3) Like other humans, Melchizedek was born and he died. However, the names of his father and mother are not furnished, his ancestry and posterity are not disclosed, and the Scriptures contain no information about the beginning of his days or the end of his life.

Thus, Melchizedek could fittingly foreshadow Jesus Christ, who has an unending priesthood. As Melchizedek had no recorded predecessor or successor in his priesthood, so too Christ was preceded by no high priest similar to himself, and the Bible shows that none will ever succeed him. Furthermore, although Jesus was born in the tribe of Judah and in the kingly line of David, his fleshly ancestry had no bearing on his priesthood, nor was it by virtue of human ancestry that the offices of both priest and king were combined in him. These things were as a result of Jehovah’s own oath to him.

Melchizedek’s nationality, genealogy, and offspring are left undisclosed in the Scriptures, and that with good reason, for he could thus typify Jesus Christ, who by Jehovah’s sworn oath “has become a high priest according to the manner of Melchizedek forever.” Heb 6:20.

In Genesis 14:18 you'll find that Melchizedek was the King of Salem who paid homage to Abraham though he himself was a King. God did not see fit to tell us anymore than that. Melchizedek's purpose was served in the comparison of Jesus to him.
Hope this helps. Have a good night.

I think it was Shem, the son of Noah. If you check out his time, he was still alive even in Abraham's time. He was supposed to have taught Abraham before. That would explain Abraham's reaction to Terah's house gods. Abraham knew the truth because Shem taught him the truth. Shem was the connection that the post flood world had along with Noah and his other sons and their wives. But I believe Shem was the one God had post flood plans for continuing the knowledge of Adam. I also think that the story of the pre-flood world was given to Abraham though the Oral Tradition.
