I think you should sit down and seriously talk with him about it. If he isn't ready for a commitment and doesn't seem to be anytime in the near future, then I would say leave him. It's a waste of time to be in a relationship that isn't going to go anywhere.

Rule of engagement: Don't ever wait. When you listened to someone and decided to hold-off your next step, when? 3-5-10-15 yrs.
Once upon a time some chick and her family told me to wait until some later time for she and I to get marry. You know what I told them:
You, You, You and your whole clan, why don't ya'll go *** yourselves?
I personally don't take that kind of crappy bs. If someone wants to marry you, she/he should be ready at any given moment regardless. Life is too short for you or anyone to play the waiting game. If someone wants you to wait usually it's Bullshit. They only want to hold-off on something or they just want to play with your life for theirs own interests. That was the reason why I walked away. This is a true story based on my life. If you live in southern Ca, you certainly would have heard about the deep unhidden truth about my life last 17yrs here in the u.s besides those made-up stories.
You had my personal take on waiting and ready bullshit. It's your turn for you to decide what is best for your own interests. Best of luck!

Getting married and starting a family does not have to happen all at once. First you need to know if you just want to get married to start a family or you want spend the rest of your lives together or now a days the next decade or so with each other.....

Well I'd wait till you were both out of school, and wait a bit and then see what happens. Talk to him and ask him when he thinks that he might be ready

Go talk to him...ask him if he even wants to get married eventually or not....
he may need more time...maybe he wants to finish college first...tell him that if it is time that he needs that you will wait ( you want him to feel that you support him.... telling him will make him feel that you support him and his decisions, he will become more secure about your relationship)
You may want to sit down and talk to him and tell him that you feel he is insecure about the relationship and want to know how to work it out...
Good Luck!
