Okay, our newly adopted completely adorable male kitten named "Belieze" was from a litter of four.
His Mamma had her kittens under our porch~escaped a rather neglectful owner down the street who never took good care of his pets ....
Anyway it was Labor Day when she delivered her kittens, and we gladly took care of all of them for a few months.
As they finally were weaned, getting bigger and the weather of course suddenly became cooler outside, it was the perfect time to adopt all the kittens and the Mother out to good homes they all deserved.
The weather was getting cold, so we placed all the babies on a cozy blanket in the tub in the bathroom and put the Mother in the the bathroom as well [we live in a small apt. along w/our pet cat]
To make a long story short, in about a little over a week, FINALLY [and carefully] found all good loving homes for all the cats, and we adopted one ourselves!! :--)

ANYWAY, our "little boy", Belieze was sleeping in the bathtub today I discovered

We've had Belieze for over 3 weeks now.
He never goes in the bathroom at all and normally is playing cheerfully and teasing our older feline, Gabriella
Do you think he was in the tub because he REMEMBERS being in there over 3 weeks ago as a smaller kitten w/his original family?
{and possibly misses them}?

Yes, cats remember certain significant events in their lives, and other things in general. Its normal for a baby cat to be curious and go into the bath tub. It probably seems really familiar and comfortable to him. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Of course he remembers; it was only 3 weeks ago. And if the tub was comfortable then, it is now, even without any bedding. I have found my cat sleeping in the sink once in a while, so it's not too weird.

I am sure your kitten remembers sleeping in the tub. Above all cats need to feel safe, and the bath tub was where he felt safe with his family. Additionally, cats love small confined spaces (that's why they love boxes so much) so the bath tub is another box for him to sleep in.

Aren't cats wonderful pets!

Cats are attracted to bathtubs because they are an enclosed space, smooth and comfortable to a cat I guess. I have often found my kitties in the bathtub or bathroom basin. One of my kitties used to pee down the bathtub plughole...but that's another story.......

could be that he can still smell his family (even though the tub's been cleaned, cats have a very strong sense of smell)

Even if he didn't remember, I'll wager that your bathroom still smells like his mamma and siblings... this may make him more likely to want to be there.
