Get some powder, like baking flour or anything you have handy for now, even baby powder. Put it on the nail and use a q-tip to apply pressure to the nail. It will stop bleeding. Dogs have a blood line in their nails. You just cut a little too deep. He will be fine.
Caustic powder works the best.
Good Luck.

CALM DOWN. This has happened to anyone who has ever owned a dog and did some nail clipping. Put some tissue on it and it will stop bleeding shortly.
And unfortunately it does hurt and next time you try to clip his nails he will remember it. See is you husband or your father has any caustic that they put on razor cuts when they shave and that could help the bleeding to stop.
But you just have to get over it and know that it was not on purpose.

which could take place. There are veins in the nails that bleed actual. in case you circulate to the vet, they have a powder that they positioned on it to provide up it from bleeding. it rather is commonplace for the dogs to opt for to lick it - it rather is how they cope. it is going to provide up (yet could go away some blood around your place). you are going to be able to easily opt for to call you vet to make certain in the event that they have any techniques if it would not provide up. No vast deal however. next time, verify you do not cut back the nail too short.

If you don`t have any Quick-Stop (or similar products), flour works just fine. Just pour it into a bowl and stick your pet`s bleeding nail into it and hold it there for a bit. Don`t wash the pet for the rest of the day, if you do, the stuff will wash off and it`ll be bleeding again.

Apply light pressure to the end of the nail with a tissue or cotton ball. It should stop bleeding in a few minutes.

Definitely corn starch. Just get a bowl and put the dog's paw into it. It will coagulate the blood and stop it from bleeding.

Styptic powder is great to keep around for when you accidentally nip the quick of your dogs toe nail, it is what groomers use and can be bought pretty much anywhere they sell pet supplies , I think I have even seen some at wallmart .

Put either corn starch or flour on it. Corn starch works best to stop the bleeding.
