How to view a document in another program?

I opened a link and asked it to open it using Notepad. How can I change it to view the content in Word?

hold down the shift key while right-clicking on the file name. It will show another option ("open with") in addition to "open". Once you click that, select Word. Be sure to uncheck the box on the bottom left of the window that says "always use this program to open this type of file".

You can change it in the registry, you can modify it directly using regedit and modify the registy yourself. Back it up before you do it......
