I want a President who isn't ashamed of Jesus Christ Name.

That is what I prayed for & God answered my prayer when George Bush was elected President. At the inaugeration our nation was blessed in 'Jesus' Name.

I love our President.

Seperation of C & S isn't separating people with faith in God form the Presidency. That would be unconstitutional.

Seperation of C & S is really separating one religion as the state religion. And a person has to be in that denomination or else be incarcerated. This is an ungodly power. Since God wants us to have the freedom to worship God, not to be forced to worship God one way. Thomas Jefferson said, "It doesn't matter if my neighbor believes in one God, many Gods or no Gods. They don't pick my pocket.". People have the freedom to worship as they believe. When people are forced to be this religion or that religion as a state religion, there is no freedom in this.

Faith in Jesus Christ because he saved us from our sins isn't something to be ashamed of. I want to know if our President trusts & obeys Jesus. If he doesn't, then I don't want him to be President. Jesus doesn't command us to do Holy Wars or jihad for Allah or suicide bombings. Jesus tells us to love God & love others. Overcome evil with good.

The Iraq war was a spiritual war also. And still is. But the reason US went into Iraq is because Sadam Husain is a threat to us. So is any country who hates Israel & US & wants to wipe us off the map. Saddam Hussain had Weapons of Mass Destruction. And & believe the reason why we didn't find them is because they went out because we went in.

So? The US saved many innocent lives because we went in there. The spiritual warfare is done through prayer & obeying Gods personal direction. That could be as simple as savng some orphans from death in an Iraqi orphanage. Or as an American Soldier, to give medical treatment to an Iraqi girl who lost her legs. To also give her advanced prosthesis so she can run again. Our soldiers have done much more than this. I am proud of our US Soldiers. I am proud of our US President.

Not me. Does anybody here remember why the colonists came to this country? Oh, yeah, it would be religious freedom. What a concept. Funny to, that the founding fathers who were Christians, Deitist, and perhaps even Atheist as well all managed to find enough in common to draft the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and believed that the Christian morals and ethics were beneficial in controlling the populace. The most basic truth of Christianity is to love God, your fellow man and to serve others, not ourselves. Doesn't sound half bad to me. While I can not speak for other religions, I am sure that having a recognized spiritual beliefs/goal is not a detriment to elected public office. The more I know about my candidate, including his morals and beliefs, the better I can predict his performance.

I don't get it. You don't care whether a president has a religious faith, but you're offended if he tells you what it is? And good luck not knowing what church a president goes to--the press is going to tell you whether the president volunteers the information or not.

I have a friend who actually tried to tell me that "separation of church and state" should prevent anyone with any kind of religious faith from holding public office. That's such crap. And if we're going to require presidential candidates to provide us with information about their health and personal finances (information that employers aren't usually entitled to), and we're going to make an issue about their sex and ethnicity throughout the campaign, then we shouldn't have a problem with them volunteering information about their religion.

It would be nice, but let first lets get one that can think for him or her self, not like the unelected war criminal puppet who is now a resident of the White House

I guess for me, and many Patriots it simple :
1) Blue is Better
2) Better to be Dead then Red

Blessed Be )O(

I do. And I'm Mormon. The interesting thing to watch is which ones tried to keep their faith to themselves and were insulted or labeled as "secretive". Unfortunately, the Christian right doesn't allow a candidates religion to remain a private, separate, and wholly unrelated issue as it should be.

The best way to assure that our president will keep faith out of government is to elect an atheist.

The first presidential candidate who openly supports a complete separation of C&S, and does not use religion as a platform, will be the first president I rave about.

Agree.

Bill Clinton is a Baptist, and I only recall him mentioning it once, in a joking manner about himself. Nixon was a Quaker.

I put the blame on Jimmy Carter, the first candidate in my lifetime who ran as a "born again". That led to Reagan opening the door to the religious right.

JFK had to fight off allegations about his Catholicism. My stupid paternal grandfather said "The pope is packin' his bags and movin' into the White House."
