I know what its like to be alone at night and you probably arent hearing noises but they are actually there. The thing i do to get through when i am feeling scarred at night is put some sound on...be it the tv or music just loud enough to drown out the sounds that are coming most probably from outside your home keep the phone close by.....and make sure door are locked and windows secure perhaps getting a dog might be a good idea..doesnt have to be a big dog but , dogs generally alert you if something is not right. And they can be great company.....my dog sounds louder than what he is and is very loyal to me...he can pick out what sounds are ok and what sounds arent.good luck remeber you will get through the night and tommorow you can sit back and think "i did it"

lol, I'm the same way. watch something funny or romantic on TV but nothing scary. Have some one come over or go out with a friend to dinner or something. call someone up, get online and surf the net, listen to some music you enjoy hearing such as your favorites.
I always used to make sure all my doors were locked, blinds on the windows, etc....I used to do that too lol... maybe you need some company around.
don't be scared if you live in a safe environment then you have nothing to worry about, if you live in a criminal area then I'd worry, but if some one wanted to hurt they would I think anyways.
I don't trust anyone anyways lol.

I get this way too! I'm on bipolar meds (zyprexa and lithium). They work very well at combatting paranoia and hallucinations. I started them in June 06 and haven't had hallucinations since. The only time I get paranoid is when I don't take my meds. I hate feeling that way. Like..when my husband leaves for work, I try to go back to sleep but always feel paranoid like you do. I just have to keep taking my meds to not feel this way. Maybe you can change your meds. Talk to your doctor about it. I wish you the best.

ok...many people say turn on a t.v. or something, but i find that makes me even scareder b/c you can't hear whats goin on.
if you do turn it on, turn it low. turn on some lights, shut all doors in the entire house. go to one consolidated place you feel most comfortable in and shut and lock the door. check out the clost or storage areas, under the bed, things like that.
make sure u have some kind of weapon, a bat, knife, something.
sometimes i try to make traps i guess you could say.
like a plastic bag at doors so if they are opened or closed the bag will rattle and you will know someone is coming.
try a magazine or a book.
i also try to keep a bible by me, idk if your religious but that's what i usually do.
read it. you will find comfort in the Lord!
some of this may sound wierd but it really helps!

whenever you are home alone you tend to over exagerate and every little noise you hear seems so be a big scary guy
here are some things to do
1. do what i do -
say (really loud) "MAN i hate that disorder i have were i ACCIDENTALLY STAB people when im scared"
and grab a knife idk why but that always makes me feel better
or
2. just call a friend and talk to them on the phone untill your mom or brother or whoever gets home
also do you have a dog? because keeping them in your lap would help a lot
I hope that helps you
GOOD LUCK
turn on the tv or your radio
making noises or tuning your attention to something else will help you
=]
GOOD LUCK AGAIN
try tip number 1 it always helps me lol

Okay, call a friend or a family member. Try turning on the TV. If not, try on some jazz music or something relaxing. (:
