i'm not married yet but i can almost guess that it was the bed my mother bought for us six months ago as an early wedding present it came to roughly 700 dollars...kingsize bed
EDIT: Why the thumbs down? It was a wedding gift (as my mom kept insisting we needed a kingsize bed cause we were using an older one that wasn't comfy anymore)

We were married 4 years ago - the most expensive gift we received was a $150 surround sound system from my aunt (we did actually register for this and were shocked that we actually received it). Otherwise, the next most expensive gift we received was from my parents and that was a monetary gift of $75.

I would say that my parents paying for the wedding was the most expensive gift. However, my husband's mom bought us our honeymoon plane tickets ($700 each) and my parents bought us a new dishwasher ($525). Those were the most expensive gifts.

This is a second marriage for both my husband and I. (Both our spouses had cheated on us) So anyway, we have a blended family. I have one daughter and he has three children. We are not having a true honeymoon, but a family vacation instead, and we will just go away for a weekend by ourselves. Anyway, my parents bought us all the southern california passes, which include 3 days at disneyland, 1 at universal studios, 1 at san diego zoo or wild animal park, and 1 at sea world. It came to about $1800. They also are paying for our $20,000 wedding. I totally wasnt expecting it because they are paying for the wedding. (I got married my first time behind their backs at 19 and was divorced a year later.) I didnt even want them to give me a wedding, but my mom said she always dreamt of giving me one, and she knows (now that I am almost 30) that I have made the right decision. So given that, I didnt expect a gift like that!

The most expensive thing we registered for was our set of pots and pans for $600.00. Though, my fiance's dad has said he wants to buy us a living room set as a wedding present, so that will end up being the most expensive gift for sure (And so very appreciated!!).
