No PAL Playstation 2s do not play NTSC format games however their are mod chips, and special discs (swapmagic) that can allow you to play NTSC games on a PAL Playstation 2.

You can't play NTSC games on a PAL system. The only way you can is if you get it chipped and that will also allow you to play burned ps2 games

If it's PAL, it will not play NTSC games. However, if you get it chipped, it should play them.

It won't do it. PS2 is region locked. However, modchips are available (like Modbo or others). If installed, the chip'll let you play back-up games and unlocks regions. But it's illegal.
