time warner cable box changing channels on its own?

i live in manhattan and i have time warner cable. recently my cable box has been changing channels with out me touching the remote. does anyone know if there is anything i can do to fix this

Check out the room the Cable Box is in.

Are there any fluorescent lights in the room? Especially one that might have a dimmer switch attached to it? This is a known problem with digital cable boxes.

If there is one try leaving it off and see if the problem goes away.
If that solves the problem then see if the dimmer switch can be removed or at least left on HIGH or replace with regular light bulb.
