I'm so sorry to hear that, it's hard to hear that someone you love has cancer. I know.... but there is always hope. Lots of people beat it!
first you need to know what Kind of blood cancer she has.
Leukemia is the general name for four different types of blood cancers. The ways that individuals with leukemia are affected and treated and the rate at which the disease progresses are different with each type of leukemia.
here is a link that I'm sure will help to answer some of your questions.

Leukemia is cancer of the blood. Unlike other cancers, leukemia does not produce lump like tumors but results in rampant overproduction of cancerous white blood cells. Leukemia -- the term derives from the Greek words for "white" and "blood" -- is often considered a disease of children, yet it actually affects far more adults. It is more common in men than women, and in Caucasians than African-Americans; almost 30,000 cases are diagnosed in the United States each year.

Leukemia. Lots of different types of leukemia exist so curability depends on which form of leukemia. Often not curable but treatable.

I assume your referring to leukemia. It is potentially treatable with chemotherapy and radiation, but there is no perfect treatment for cancer (depending on the type). For the most part, it can be a winning battle, but sometimes its not. I pray that your grandmother is a part of the winners.

The most common leukemias in elderly people are hairy cell and chronic lymphocytic. Both are usually managable with chemo drugs. It really depends on the type of leukemia as to how they will treat it.

Leukemia-Cancer of the blood I think it is where your white blood cells get attacked and you end up with none at all and that is not any help to your immune system.

It's leukemia. It can affect the blood/bone marrow. They can treat it with chemo, radiation or even a bone marrow transplant. The good news is that nowadays, leukemia is very curable.
Good luck and God Bless!

Thats Leukemia.. Theres no cure for it but doctirs can treat it and people can live a long time with it as long as they take care of themselves. But if it's too advanced there is only hope and prayer.
