I was out tonight shopping for my boyfriend's birthday present. I wanted to get his family picture framed as they live far and he loves them so much. As I am walking out of the store with his gift, he texted me and broke up with me. He didn't say why, but he got pretty upset the other night when I mentioned that I think we should wait a bit longer before having sex (we have been going out for only a month.) Now I feel stupid... and hurt too. I'm 27, he's 33.
What did I do wrong?

Wow, he wanted one thing. You wanted many things. He's shallow and not worth it. If you want him to say that then ask him. Chances are he'll give you the lame excuse that you are too young, or you are at different places in your life, or something else. Since he is too much of a coward not to tell you to your face you want to break up, then what makes you think he'll tell you why and be truthful. He's not worth it. You did nothing wrong.
Move on and as we seasoned daters always say "NEXT!"

Don't feel stupid because he is the idiot.
At 33 I would think he would be more mature than to break up with someone on a text message much less break up with someone for wanting to wait to get intimate.
I can understand your hurt but you didn't do anything wrong. Sounds like you might be better off without this one...throw him back, return the picture frame, and you'll find a great one who will wait as long as you want to before you get intimate.

No clue. And no one here will know the answer. You were seeing each other for a month so that's enough time for you to be able to call him and ask what's up. That's pretty pathetic that he texted you.. especially since he's 33. sorry that that happened to you!
After that, you should move on. Find someone who will appreciate you. But that doesn't mean that you should give him the right to just be able to text you and that's it. Make it difficult for him. What a jerk. Every woman in their life will meet a man like this and we should have some kind of website to list these men to avoid.

You did absolutely nothing wrong. What an inconsiderate jerk! Don't feel stupid. See if you can find out if not having sex was the reason for him breaking up with you. If so you are better off and need to find a mature 33 year old.

He doesn't know what he lost apparently, you sound like a good person, too good for him! Just let him wallow in his own stupidity. He probably got upset just because you were smart and wanted to wait it out before putting out. Most men are just too damn stupid to realize what they put a woman through sometimes. I've been there before. You'll bounce back, and if he comes back, make sure you tell him how you feel and if he has any feeling for you, he will respect you.

ouch. that must hurt. But here's the thing... u guys have been going out for only a month! Its was smart of you not to jump in bed with him.
Now u know that he was dating you just to have sex with you. What a jerk. If he really loved you, he'd wait. Trust me.
So now... yeah it hurts, but don't feel stupid. Give yourself a little time to heal. Then find another guy. There are guys out there who will love you for who you are and beleive that your worth waiting for.

Also, I made my current boyfriend wait 6 months before I would sleep with him. If it's the right guy and he's interested in YOU then he will wait.

You didn't do anything wrong, he's a jerk. He was only wanting one thing from you and you (smartly) didn't give it to him before you were ready. This is typical for guys who are in a relationship for only one thing and they didn't get it. Forget the bastard and live your life. You deserve WAY better.
