I'm on a tight budget and I want to buy a gun. I won't use it for defense or anything like that, but just to have fun at the range.

I went to a gun show trying to find something under $100 but I couldn't find almost anything for under $200.

I know that quality guns are expensive but I feel bad that I can't even find a used gun for cheap... Any sugestion where can I find a good deal?

P.S. I've tried to go to the gun auction sites, but after shipping, and the FFL fee all the savings are lost.

P.P.S. I live in Phoenix, AZ so if you know a place in-town where I can find an inexpensive gun, please let me know.

Start saving your $$$$, so you have more options to choose the ones that you cannot afford to buy right now.*

For a 22 I would check the Pawnshops. For a centerfire Check into a Mosin Nagant both the long barrel 91/30 and the m-44 carbine with the folding bayonet are in that price range. The ammo they use 7.62x54R is availible and is very affordable. There also is some light practice rounds that are just about recoil free made in the Czech Republic that show up on the surplus market from time to time. Here is a link to some info about them:

Sure. You can buy a used .22 for under $100, and I've seen plenty of single-shot 20 gauges for around that price as well.

If you just want something to shoot for fun, I'd highly recommend getting a .22. They are fun little guns, and you can buy 50 rounds for around $2 at most sporting goods stores (to compare...50 shotgun shells would cost you anywhere from $15-$40 depending on where you buy them, and high-powered rifle cartridges are around the same as well). Set up some tin cans, lollipops, apples, or any safe target and try hitting them with open sights at 50 yards. That's a blast!

Pawn shops are a great place to find used guns. I'm not sure what your looking for, but where I live, they have alot of decent used shotguns and rifles. Not a whole lot of pistols, but that's just where I live. Go on google and search for pawn shop near (your zip code), and it should bring up results with a map.

That would be your best bet. Good luck!
