There isn't!! Usually 2 people are better then 1 and make the event as quick as possible. Pop them into a luke warm bath and use a plastic container to wet the cat. Person 1: Hold the front feet together in 1 hand and use the other hand to aid the water in getting through their thick fur. Person 2: apply shampoo and both people to work into the fur. Rinse VERY well (try avoid getting shampoo / water into face). Out the bath onto a mat or sorts and use some old towels to dry most of the wet fur. Cover the head area as well with the towel when drying the cat. Place them in a sunny so they can lick themselves dry.

I just hold mine by the scruff (the skin on the neck) the whole time and wash him with the other hand. I make sure to talk to him and make sure he knows that everything's ok while I'm doing it. He doesn't like it that much, but my cat is pretty easy to bathe. He's very tolerant of me...even though he's only gotten about 3 or 4 baths in his whole life, I started when he was a kitten...so I would suggest, if you're going to bathe your cat as an adult, definitely start out when your cat is young!

before you bathe your cat you should clip his claws to minimize the damage that can be done. Talking calmly and holding the cat by the scruff (not picking him off the ground just holding firmly onto his scruff so you have control) it is much easier if you have a shower head with a hose that you can use to rinse. Definately if the kitty really hates baths have one person hold the kitty and the other do the washing . Make sure to rinse , rinse , rinse kitty fur is very dense and you don't want to leave alot of residue on kitty because of their self bathing. Do not use herbal shampoos like the kind that have tea tree oil and such in them these things are poison to cats. I have persians and have bathed them from kittenhood and they do eventually get used to this , even being blow dried doesn't bother my kitties anymore.

The first question I would ask is why? Cats are not like dogs, and are continually giving themselves a bath. So unless your cat got into something very foul, a bath is actually counterproductive. Giving your cat a bath will remove oils, etc. that are protective.

Cats HATE it when you bathe them! Honestly, bathing cats is usually unnecessary, but if you have to, there is really no easy way to do it. You could always just take a really wet towel and rub them down with water and rub shampoo into them and then rinse it off (with the wet towel). It won't be fun, but good luck!

There is this cage thing that you can buy on www.Doctors Foster and Smith.com
I never had to use it , but it does look effective. I haven't bathed either of my cats in years! Well since they were kittens, I adopted really sickly kitties that had ringworm and all sorts of gross skin problems, after months of hard work my kitties got better! Thank God. They're now 7 and 3 years old kitties and are doing GREAT!Good Luck

Cat's rarely ever like water. So, they sell a bottle of spray that you can put on your cat, it basically will clean the cat without water. I know they say cat's clean themselves but sometimes they still do smell, or if they get into something they can be sticky, my friend's cat does that all the time. You can find this stuff at wal-mart. Good luck :).

You don't need to bathe them at all, they bathe themselves.
Only bathe them when they've gotten themselves in real trouble, like knocking something over .. and it dumps on them.
I've done that by accident -- muffin batter. I accidentally dumped it on him when I bumped the pan.
But, bathing cats will always be hard -- there's no other way.

Rubber Gloves! Cats dont necessarily need to be bathed like dogs, though. Check with your vet to make sure its necessary.
