Yes. Strange way science works when politicians and the idiot news media get envolved.

There's no comparison at all.

The thing in the 70s was a few guys with no good data, and no backing from ANY major scientific organization. It's only noticed because there was a media splash, not a scientific one.

Global warming scientists today have a mountain of data backing them up. They are supported by EVERY major scientific organization.

A better comparison is between the "skeptics" today and the "global cooling" guys. A few guys with wild ideas and no proof. More details here:

"The global cooling myth"

BHOLESHANKAR07 - There is no possibility that we could lower CO2 below natural levels. Look at this graph:

Until recently we haven't been above 300 parts per million in 400,000 years, and we're now close to 400. The best scientists hope for is to keep it under 500.

Global Warming and Global Cooling are essentially the same (a change in Earth's average temperature), except that Global Warming is an increase in temperature, and Global Cooling was a decrease in temperature. But both are caused by an imbalance in the natural flow of heat energy through the Earth's oceans and atmosphere, and this has happened thousands of times in Earth's history. This time it just happens that the imbalance has the effect of heating the Earth, rather than cooling it.

No. To begin with; "Global Cooling" was a Theory- based on a number of hypotheticals (virtually ALL of which- were problematic, at best). Global Warming is based on Current World Climate changes, compared over time against past information- & then projected FORWARD to see how they should end up if we don't do anything to reduce our role in the Equation. In short , Global Warming is the Real Deal.

an excellent style of human beings are puzzled because of each of the advice this is flying round, and each and each of the incorrect information flying round to boot. this is the reason the alarmists have all started calling it international climate replace somewhat than international warming or international cooling. this kind they could nonetheless blame guy for the priority, and not in any respect seem as if idiots if the elements does issues opposite to what they are claiming. the finished you may do is your man or woman study, learn the geological record, the ice center record, or maybe hearken to the argument on each and each side, and make up your man or woman concepts. the most the following is study with an open concepts, and particular you'll come to a similar end that I have, and that is; we dont have sufficient advice to really comprehend what is going on with the elements, because technology does no longer fairly comprehend how the elements works. a touch comprehend-how is risky, and each and each side have a touch comprehend-how. although the side this is claiming that guy created the priority doesnt have sufficient data to cajole me, the position because the side that announces the priority is organic does.

Global cooling was started by scientists seriously studying the subject and was highly speculative but the media exagerated the science somewhat.

Global warming is exactly the same, but it has replaced nuclear war as a popular doomsday scenario, partly because some people are pre-disposed to accepting doomsday scenarios and people aren't afraid of the former Soviet Union anymore.

This shows that the scientists have ran out of any new creative ideas. secondly the capitalism has taken over the scientific community. just wait and they may come out with soame wonderful concept next year may belike- they will say that the global warming has been reduced as sufficient measures were taken in previous year, now the CO2 is reduced to dengerous level and plants will not survive.

not exactly.
the current phenomenon of global warming is caused by an increase in the amounts of green house gasses in the atmosphere, the main increase is caused by human activity, which releases CO2 gas from fossil fuels use, and decreases recycling of this gas, by reduction in the size of forests, especially in the tropics.
Global cooling, or ice age, is caused by change in the amount of energy the sun produces, and for the last 100000 years it occurs every 20000 years or so.
but there is another phenomenon which has somewhat similar effects as global cooling, it is called global dimming, and it is also caused by human activity, but has the opposite effect to global warming, this effect is caused by air pollution by solid particles, such as sooth, which float in the upper atmosphere and prevent some of the sun rays from reaching the ground, it also causes droughts in sub tropical zones.

No. If you would bother to do even a little bit of research you would discover that global cooling was a rumor perpetuated by the media and did not have any scientific support. Global warming DOES have scientific support.
