Hello,
Looking to adopt a Lab but need help on which sex would be better.
I have two kids (age 7 & 4). So which sex is better with kids and easier to train?

Thank you!

I've had male and female Labs in the past, and found that females are easier to train, and are more willing to be obedient. Males tend to be more strong willed and independent. I've also found that females are more affectionate, I don't know if this is the same with them all, but from my own personal experience it is. I have two females and both are very loving and loyal dogs, wouldn't be without them. I think both are as good with kids.
Good luck with whichever you choose.

Felmales will bleed during heat just like all mammals do so don't get a female if you don't plan on getting her fixed and dont wanna deal with all that. The plus side of a female is you can have puppies. Males will be a little more dominant but pretty much the same as females.

Labrador Retrievers are really gentle dogs and they are great for children so either gender is fine i would pick a female because the boy dogs i have always lift there legs to mark there territory on everything in the house not EVERY BOY DOG IS LIKE THAT so dont be mad haha but i like the female dogs. Also i think the girls are calmer then the boy dogs.

Both are good, but I would goo with a female. They tend to be less boisterous. I have a female lab. Labs are great dogs. They do well with kids. I couldnt believe this but my lab is diff from all the other dogs ive ever ment. She like senses when she needs to be behaved(around sick people, kids, or kids with autism.) I brang my lab to a school fair about dog mushing. She has always been hyper. A 5th grader with autism walked unsteadily up. I was in 6th grade at the time(long time ago) and all I could think was ****! My dogs gonna make him cry. But she walked up to him and sat down. The girl tugged at Scouts fur and hugged her and kissed her. I was in shock.

I have a female lab and she was really easy to train. I've never had a male dog but I don't think there's a difference of which would be easier to train as long as you are able to discipline them and give them enough affection! Good luck, Labs are the best!!! Take them swimming :)

Well, we have a male Labrador, and my mom says that males are alot easier to train, as long as you get them fixed. I found that that is true. I had a girl dog, we got her fixed, but she could not be trained. Or Lab, on the other hand, got trained really quickly.

Either sex will make a great pet for families with kids. Be sure they have been neutered. Give them discipline, good food and love. Be sure you and your children are established as the pack leader immediately when the dog comes home.

Any sex would be great if you raise and treat it right. :)

If I HAD to choose -- it would be male. But, that's because I have 2 female already.

Spay and neuter. :)
