I am 14 (almost 15). My mom is baptist, my dad is catholic. I was raised baptist, but I have decided to become Catholic, for spiritual reasons. My parents know and accept it. My dad is happy about it. My dad is currently living out of state but will be back in a couple months. I was wondering if there was like a big sister/brother program for teens looking to become catholic, where a catholic teen that is my age could help me on my way.

Yes, I know all about RCIA classes. I just want to be...you know, knowledgable and everything so that they take me seriously.
I do NOT feel like there is a certain age that you are capable of becoming closer to God. This is not like driving or voting...those are legal matters, this is faith. I wouldn't be having sex until marriage, but technically once you hit puberty you can. So that was a horrible example. ( do you live on mars or something?) It's not a cult. And there is nothing wrong *here* . That wasn't the question so keep your negative opinion to yourself.

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group. Be sure to tell then your age.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
With love and prayers in Christ.

Go to a nearby Roman catholic Church and talk to the priest. Tell him your desire to convert. Ask about RCIA classes (Adult Initiation Classes). God bless and good luck!

If you go to any catholic church and tell the priest you want to become catholic, he'll happily accept you with open arms and might send you to a few religon classes and masses. The church is really very helpful to new members.

confident. you will get a head-start up in learning on the subject of the ideals and practices of the Catholic faith by interpreting the Catechism of the Catholic Church. you will get them at quite much any bookshop, notably ones with a great faith area. i'm informed you will get pocket-e book variations at Walmart for $3.95 - lower back, so i'm informed. The greater you recognize approximately Catholicism, once you start up up RCIA, the less time RCIA will take.

Those kinds of decisions should be made when you're an adult. At 14/15 you aren't old enough to drive a car, vote, have sex, etc, but somehow you're old enough to make a decision about which cult to belong to?! Something is very wrong there.
All religious groups are cults and the idea of making such a decision while you are still a child is ridiculous. But religious cult members are childish, so you'll fit right in.

No, but there are classes. There are conversion classes for adults (you are close enough to go through the adult conversion process) who have been baptized into the Catholic church, and classes for those who have not been baptized. Go to your father's church, and see the priest. He will council you and get you into the right class.
