I have reformatted the HD once before
and to install the 95 would be the 2nd time and installing the xp would be the third

Is that one too many?

You can only upgrade to XP from Windows 98 or newer. Windows 95 is not supported.

It doesn't matter how many times you install XP to the SAME computer...with the same hardware configuration. If you make significant hardware changes then you may have to reactivate XP.

This is really a bad idea. You have Vista and want an older Windows version? If so, most vendors support a downgrade, so if you contact the OEM you may be able to get a OEM cd for the comparable version of XP to use.

At any rate you can't upgrade from Windows 95 to XP, you'll need 98.

As long as it's the same computer you're installing XP on, it doesn't matter how many times you install/reinstall. Are you sure your XP upgrade recognizes Win95 as a qualified product? I'm not sure, but you might want to double check before opening the software.

If this is a new computer it has no floppy drive.Win95 CD is not bootable so it's not going to work.Anyway you probably have sata drives and win95 can't recognize them.So stick in Vista
