Hi THere
Here is a technique to consider called EFT (www.emofree.com). It is easy and it can be learned at home by yourself. It is just an accupressure technique, but it does do wonders. It has healed all kinds of issues by releasing the emotional stress tied to the physical ailment.
Watch the 7 min video on the website and the info how to do it.
Best of health to you

Get in touch with the NFA: National Fibromyalgia Association. You can find them online but their office is located in Orange, CA. They have the best and first color magazine dedicated to FMS and it's well worth the fee.
This is a bad time for SS to approve FMS as the program is very tight now. There's a very long list of people trying to get approved for it. This is just one way SS makes cutbacks. You can trust the people at NFA, I know them and I've worked with them so start doing your homework. You must have an MD diagnois you no holistic medic will do. Document everything you've tried and keep good records of all appointments. I wish you well. Molly

I have gone through very similar problem. For the start apply for state disability and take the paperwork to your doctor's office for them to complete their part. Stay on top of the office or your paperwork will get buried. That should start your benefitss quickly. SSI is more difficult. I ended up getting an attorney before I won my case. Theyy really go on a small fee, and not payable unless you are awarded. You will be denied at least twice, as that is just what they do. Then you will go before a judge, state your case, as will your attorney, and they will give the judge the supporting documentation. Plan on spending a year at least to get your benefits. You will probably need to go through the first application on your own, then once you are denied an attorney will take it. I wish you the best as it is a long, tiring process. Once completed though you will at least have a small income to support your family with. Best luck to you.

You can go to your local social service office and they can help you. Maybe you or your doctor didnt turn in the necessary paperwork. Then if that doesn't help you might need a lawyer. I have guillain-barre syndrome so I understand and know what you are going through. I just medically retired from the federal gov't. You can also go to socialservices.gov I think that is the right website. Please let me know how things turns out for you

I know where your coming from, I'm disabled! I fought it for years til I just couldn't do it any more!
Have you applied for benefits? It takes a long time to go through the process. The first application is always denied, and usually takes up to 3 mos. to get their decision. Appeal it right away! Don't be surprised if they deny it again. Another 3-4 mos. to get the decision on the reconsideration! Now it's time to get an Attorney who specializes in Disability claims. They will represent you on a contingency and will get paid when you do!(25% of your back pay) The attorney will file the appeal on your behalf and then depending on the case load in your state you will finally get a hearing with the Administrative Law Judge. Again it will take up to another 3 mos. to get his decision. (It took almost 22 months from the date of my first app. to get any benefits).
Apply for every local assistance available in your area. Go to your local DHS office and apply for food stamps and medicaid,(you will get the food stamps right away. If you are turned down on the medicaid, appeal it), apply for housing assistance with your local housing authority. Talk to others in the community about where to get help, someone can help you find the assistance to keep your bills paid and food on the table. It is out there! Some of the churches might help!
But, do not give up!
The Judge on my case said there was no reason for the determination board to deny my claim. All the evidence was in front of them. I have sever bi-lateral Carpal Tunnel, degenerative disc disease all through my spine, osteo arthritis in the spine, scoliosis, and slipped discs, bone cysts in my right foot, asthma, copd, and diabetes. By the time I had the surgery on my hands, my right hand was almost dead!
Things will get tough before it's over, don't give up! Your doctor may even have a sliding scale you can go to where you will pay according to your income. Mine only charged me $5.
Be sure your doctor will back you up 100%. Some of them won't! Not because the disability isn't there, but because it is stressful for them to deal with SS.
I sure hope this helps! Good Luck, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!
