No.
You Can Pray that GOD Helps you to Learn How to "Use" Faith.

You can do That!

FAITH (a Real Spiritual Substance) Comes from "Hearing" and "Hearing" by The Word of GOD.

Just Read your Bible and You Will Get "FAITH". (you Hear a Voice in your Soul, when ever you Read SomeThing--dont' you? :)
(Think of it as "Gas in your Tank"!) ;)

You were born with it, you need to pray for the ability to use the faith you already have.

In the Bible (Romans 10:17), it says that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. One way to hear God is through prayer. He is able to speak to us during those times.

He also uses the Bible, which contains his words, to speak to us. As we read the history of faithful dealings with others, and his promises of how he will help and love us, that increases our faith.

As most of us are not experts on understanding either the Bible or prayer, God has also given us the church. Through the pastor, who is an expert at the Bible and prayer, we can learn what we need to know about God and his word to build our faith.

The way to build faith is the hear God. Most people need prayer, their own Bible reading, and the teaching of the church to really hear him.

From a christian perspective, we have an example of someone asking God for help in the faith area. A man had brought his son for healing/deliverance, and when Jesus was telling his disciples they needed to have faith for the boy to be healed, the man said, Lord I believe, help my unbelief. Jesus did heal the boy, and so asking for help in the faith area is totally acceptable.

of course, pray to walk on water. The disciples always prayed for more faith, and they walked with Jesus.

Actually the Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
So faith comes from hearing the Word of God.

Definitely, but if you are praying, you already have some faith. "Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief." Mark 9:24
