I absolutely love the Cloub B Twilight Turtle and Twilight Ladybug!! They are plush animals that their backs light up and project the constellations onto the celing. I have bought them for all of the infants and toddlers I know for CHristmas this year. I have researched the perfect gift fo rthem forever and this is what I came up with. Very good gift.

Stacking cups, blocks, books.
My son really starting enjoying the touch and feel type of books around 9 months old - the ones with different textures on each page for the child to touch. Baby Einstein makes some great ones.

Books! Write messages in them. Little toys that'll light up or sing. Babies his age love that kind of stuff. Toys he'll use down the road. There's a couple of stage age toys that grow with a child. My kids had this fire truck that you could sit on and ride, a handle so you could push it and buttons that played music. They pushed it when they learned to walk, sat on it when they were a little older etc.
Personalized blankets or stuffed animals that have his name on it and "baby's first Christmas". Each one of my boys have one that they put on their beds on Dec 1 and use until Christmas Eve. We just got my daughter one, who is 4ms old. Also lots of love and attention. =]
I took LOTS of pictures and put them into a book to show them when they're older. I'm sure they'll enjoy that in the future.
It's hard to get gifts for a baby, I know. I'm still trying to figure out what to get my daughter b/c she's still so young. My sons were all around your sons age on their first Christmas.
Best Wishes and happy holidays =]

Write a little story about the two of you. It can be something simple, like a typical day together, or a trip to the zoo or something. Illustrate it with pictures of the two of you and other fun sensory things (felt cut-outs, leaves from outside, little sheets of "mirror"). It'll be something that you'll love sharing with him and can become a treasured keep sake. As he gets older, he'll appreciate seeing himself in the book...and might like getting creative with his own stories.

If you don't know what they could use now, consider something for when they are older. If it is a family member perhaps something that was given to you as a child and you could pass it down. I was given a piece of jewelry from my aunt as a child. I kept it for many years and enjoyed it later in life, and now it belongs to my oldest child. It doesn't have to be expensive, just memorable.

My nephew became into like that too. My sister offered all of this infant nutrition and he would not eat any of it. that's ok, he later began to eat most of the infant ingredients whilst he became 13 months yet merely provide him sparkling ingredients like bananas, cooked green beans, etc. as long as he can chew them up, and you help him alongside with mashing, and slicing nutrition up, it rather is going to be ok. purchase customary unsweetened apple sauce, etc. the element to keep in mind is to not feed him ingredients he could desire to be allergic to, fish, nuts, eggs. If he's already tried them and he's fantastic, that's fantastic, yet some ingredients you shouldnt introduce until later.
