"Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God." Deuteronomy 13:12-16

If it is the truth and God never changes, then does that means that he approves of such a thing?

So if God's words are a manifestation of himself, then doesn't that make him murderous and evil?

Lets say hypothetically if I was seeking a kind, loving, compassionate God, and someone told me about this one, how could they justify that he does really have these qualities when its clear that "his irrefutable and literally inspired word" states the terrible abominable things that he has done?

IT'S THE WORD. Believe it all for it's god's word. It's all or nothing with god's word. No picking and choosing your interpretation. No listening to part of it and discarding what you don't like.

Corrupt men ( worthless rabble ) are wicked, deprived people who oppose the will and work of God.
They needed to have a proper investigation before the public trial guaranteed justice for everyone.
The people of the city, who were responsible for letting evil get out of hand became subject to punishment. They were no better than the immoral Canaanites who were under God's present judgment ( 7:2, 12:2,3 )

God had promised the Israelites the heathen lands because the heathens disregarded God. In these heathen lands were many false idols and false gods that the people worshipped. God is the only one that is to be worshipped. Therefore the Israelites were instructed to destroy these towns and the people in them. Besides God knew the hearts of the heathen and knew that they would never come and worship Him alone.

There are SOME parts of the Old Testament that should be analyzed, but not followed. This is because of the New Testament.

You just don't get it do you?
You attempt to make God look one way you skew the image of the Lord, this you cannot deny. But do you even understand God's judgment? Do you think that you can understand the ways of God? I don't believe so, I don't believe you understand God's judgment and you don't understand God's ways... you don't get it.
You're not even a scholar on the Word of God, which was given to us so that we may know and understand God, if only in part.
So, will you tell the Lord on the day of judgment that you thought your judgment is more appropriate than His. Will you tell Him that you are holier than God? Hmmmm, who else wanted to usurp the throne of God?

It is truth, you want lies.
God's Word manifests Himself.
It is truth, you want lies.
I guess God should have inspired falsehood.
It is truth, you want lies.
Do you even explore the reasons it is written?
It is truth, you want lies.
1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
It is truth, you want lies.
