So did Peter...according to the gospels. My question is can we also? Is it a case of mind over matter and our belief that we can't is the reason why we can't?

Mammon, where’d you get that dusty old premise from? They stopped making those years ago. Miracles, by definition, impinge on the natural system, precisely because God is not inside of, bound, or in any way controlled by the natural system. He is the Creator of it. We only call it natural because we can observe repeatable patterns within it. That does not imply the patterns are unalterable if influenced by something or Someone outside the otherwise closed system.

So here's the deal: We know it wasn't ice Jesus walk on, because Peter tried to copy Jesus during this event, but when his faith wavered, he started to sink into the fully fluid sea of Galilee. Oops, no ice! So, if you think a roughly 200 pound human walking on deep, fully fluid water fits an observable, repeatable pattern in nature, I’d be glad to hear of it. I’m waiting …

This was before water filters, so all water was hard back then. Easy to walk on. You could skate in June.

God created the Universe and set all the Laws of Nature into motion. He understands how atoms operate and he can both walk through solid matter (which is feasible theoretically) and manipulate matter so that he could walk upon it, in it and through it.
He is God ....after all.

The gospels are not visions, and are thus not symbolic, but literal.

the jews stole the flood story from the 13 previous flood stories, so maybe they stole the walking on water story from some other more ancient myth?...like the virgin birth,etc

i only believe in 1% of the bible any way and archalogist are disproving more and more of the bible as time gos on

just in the last week i heard that bethlehem of modern time was not the bethliehem of acient times. so stories keep chainging as we gain more scientific evedence.
