Since im naturally dark brown, I want to go a bit darker, to jet black. Would it look unnatural and bluish?

Nope,it'll look good.I'm guessing that dying your hair black is a new theme lol.Alot of people I know are dying their hair black =D,and it turns out good.

If you'd like to step it up a notch, I would suggest using your natural haircolor as a highlight and use the black as a lo light. The quantity of each is up to you. (more black vs your brown) If you're planning on doing this yourself, just leave out a few pieces of your natural and pin them out of the way with clips. It would be best if you had a friend to help you. Good luck!

If you are very light it'll just make you look lighter and Gothic. If that's what you're looking for, go for it. I died my hair jet black and everybody told me I looked pale and Gothic. My hair is dark brown too and you could tell the difference. If your skin tone is olive, or medium to dark, black looks beautiful and chick. One of my friends has jet black hair but she is a medium-dark complexion Latina, and a Filipino co-worker with medium tone complexion has black jet hair too. It looks beautiful and sophisticated on both of them but it wouldn't look the same if they were white. It just depends on your complexion and on what kind of look you want to go for. It would be a good choice in terms of root growth because it looks terrible when blonde roots start growing on really dark her, same thing with dark roots growing on light hair. It is recommended that we go only two shades darker or lighter than our natural hair color to keep it natural looking.

There is a way to go super black without having that blue tinge. Just tell your stylist that you don't like that blue and it's no prob. Most of the color lines tell you when the black has a blue base to it. go for it...just have it done professionally, and remember that black is soo hard to get out if you change your mind so be sure first. : )

My natural haircolor is dark brown too ... and I didn't think black would be a huge change, but it IS. lol, trust me. I'm pretty light skinned too, so I looked gothic. I guess it all depends on your skin tone how it would look... but it's a big change. Good Luck!

I don't think so I guess it depends on the dark brown. you have now. if you do it good luck. I wanted to dye my hair black but I wouldn't be able to pull it off at all (my hair is way to LIGHT)

no. if you are only changing it a couple of shades it won't look unnatural. however a light brunette or a blonde going to black would look really bad.
