Botflies are common parasites in Horses, Rabbits and Mice, but not Deer. To my knowledge there is no connection between Botflies, Deer and the human consumpton of venison at all. If you are talking about Midges that infect Deer with EHD, that too isn't an issue because the insects die after a good fall frost, and EHD can't be spread to humans thru contact or eating venison either. The Botfly species that is known to infect humans are native to South America and not here in the U.S. Even then, only a few cases of Botfly related illnesses have been reported and no deaths. And again no cases related to Deer here in the U.S.

Dermatobia hominis is the only type of botfly that can harm humans and it is only found in south america. Botflies and their larvae that are found on deer are harmless to humans. Also when there is no blood left in the meat (after dressing) most fly larvae die. Botflies laying eggs in humans stomaches or harming a person is an old hunting myth.
