For a start, it is according to how old you are. If you are in your late teens, then you should start following your dreams whenever you can. However, if you are young, and still have a few years living with your parents, use the time to plan your dream. How to reach your goal. Where would be the best place to go to reach it. What kind of education would you need or what kind of connections.
Write all this down, and in your mind, aim at your dream.
Either way, keep that dream alive, and one day you will know that you made the right move when you were "younger".
Are your parents dead against your dream? Have you talked to them about it? Lets say they want you to be a Doctor, a lawyer, a nurse, etc. etc. having something like a career would really help you reach your dream, probably faster if you didn't have something like that behind you.
You could use what your parents want you to do, to your advantage. It could connect you to your dream later, and make the dream more obtainable./

You live your life for yourself until you are marry, and then your new family will be part of your dreamzs. Your dreamzs is base for your future. Your parents receives your loving heart, and respect from you. They should applaud you for the hard work that you had made a success of.
Whatever your desire from your dreamzs, do your best to make it happen. Instead of regretting resentment toward your parents and yourself from halting of what they want you to do. God bless

If you are intending to sponge off your parents until you are 30... then no.
You can tray to develop whatever means of making a living you want, and change tracks as often as you want, but don't expect your parents to feed and house you indefinitely.
Yes, follow your dreams, but be responsible for yourself.
