No. I she has shown that she has no feeling for him, giving up may well be an act of love. Putting her wishes above his own.

BULL! My friend, a guy giving up on a girl doesn't mean that he didn't love her. In fact if he knew that it'd be better for her to not be with him then he would also back off... or it can also because of the times he's spilled his heart out to her and been rebuffed so many times that he just can't keep trying...a guy giving up on a girl proves that she has broken him past a point of repair and that he loves her so much that he's willing to let her go

Five months is a long time. Especially if there has been no real encouragement from the girl. Not many guys will keep up the chase that long. Eventually he will just decide she's never going to be interested and will give up. He may love her dearly, but you can't chase the unattainable forever.

It means we do not have enough information about this situation, for one thing.
Based on this very little bit of information I would say that he just got discouraged enough for some reason. He may have loved her a lot and got worn down.
This made me think of "Vanity Fair," a terrific novel by William Makepeace Thackeray (mid-1800s) in which a man loves and pursues a girl who does not appreciate him - for years! And it is excruciating. He is really nice, and she doesn't care, she likes some terrible guy who uses her, etc. (Really, the Victorians are closer to us than we think!) And then finally she likes him and they marry but Thackeray makes it clear that he is really tired and is never going to adore her like he did, she wore him down.
Anyway - it may be like that, in a shorter amount of time.

The reason is because some guy get sick of running after one girl over and over. Five months is 150 days. That is extremely long period of time. There exist a time in every guy life to move on. There are many fish in the sea

No, he was just sick of chasing her with no response... If they were never together then he couldn't know if he loved her anyways... But five months is a long time, he just got sick of it, men don't set and wait around for a girl forever when they want them. They move on to the next best thing...

Everyone has a threshold. After 5 mos. with nothing to show, he probably gave up out of self preservation. As to his loving her, how the hell can you know if he chased and never had a chance with her? He could have loved her but he never got the opportunity. I dont blame this guy. Love isnt an endurance test to se if you last long enough then it proves your love

It depends on the reason he gave her up. If he gave her up because she's taken, then he loves her enough to let her be happy with someone else. If he gave her up out of insecurities, he may love her, but he's so afraid of how she would feel in return. If something just out of the blue caused him to give up, he may have lost hope and stopped believing in his love for her or felt that something was wrong.

I once chased a girl for 8 months, but she only gave minimal response. Did not want to go out. Then I gave up, and she responded by asking, why did I let the "relationship" go? What relationship? I told her I gave up. She tried to reignite the spark, but my zeal was gone. I was heartbroken, but I really didn t want to start all over again! Girls: Don t play hard to get if you really like the guy!

No it actually does not. When he made the statement that "I give up" it means that I love you so much that I cant stay here and let you do the things that you are doing . But that's only in some cases.

I love a girl, and have been chasing her, catching her a few times, for years. I loved her the first 5 months, and if i stopped chasing her then my love wouldn't have been any less real. What changes your dedication to love.
