Gas it cooks better and the electric cook tops tend to blow out after a couple years use, repairing the heat coils and electric connects is a frivolous costly pursuit.

Gas is FAR more energy efficient and less pollution than electricity when used as a heat source for cooking.
True, the "pollution" is in your own home, but 100% of the heat from the burning of the gas is convertrd to heat for cooking, and it burns very cleanly if the burners on your stove are correctly adjusted.
When you cook with electricity, the electric power is often generated by the burning of gas. The conversion of that heat to electricity is NOT very efficient. The transmission of the energy to yor home creates further losses. Then you have to convert it back into heat. Another loss.
The actual heat from an electric stove must be less than 40% of the heat created by the burning of the gas to used to provide the power.
Because of how our utility companies charge for their products (including taxes) the cost difference to you may not be that great.

Phillip H has it right, gas is your way to go, especially if you're worried about pollution. Think about this, that electricity you would be using to heat your stove most likely comes from coal fired power plants. Coal is FAR dirtier of a fossil fuel than natural gas is.

I've had fuel and discover that the fuel range consistently has that fuel scent to it whilst you flip it on or even somewhat whilst it is grew to become off. I do not just like the notion of an open flame, you have got to watch with youngsters. If you are dressed in lengthy sleeves it might be hazardous. Get some thing you desire however I opt for electrical the entire manner, peculiarly with a convection oven.

I like gas for several reasons. One seems like there is better control of the heat when cooking , hard to get the temp right with electric, second reason. when the power goes out you can always use the burner to heat the house..boil a big pot of water and it will help heat the place ....anyways...just a couple of reasons I like gas..peace

I've had both and prefer electric. I now have a glass top and it sure is easy to keep clean and makes the kitchen look better. Once you get used to its heating characteristics its just as good as gas.

Electric. Gas prices are on the rise, haven't you heard? LOL! :-) Kidding, even before the surge in gas prices, I always preferred electric because I never liked having to light the pilot (back in the day, not sure if you still have to do that with the newer models).
Best of luck to you on choosing one, if that is your mission. :-) :-)
