Depends on the family. Some people insist their children do their bidding until those children leave the house (that's fair, I guess)
One of my children is non-religious. I don't make her attend church. We both win on this one: She does not participate in a religion she doesn't like, and I have someone watch the dogs while I am in church.

As long as you live with them - yes. Really though how bad can it be an hour or 2 of music and blah - blah - then home with the family with less stress. If you refuse to go then you just make things stressful. Wait until you leave home and are on your own to tell them you really appreciate that they like it but it isn't right for you. That way you are out of it and they don't feel you are putting them down.

I suppose if you wanted to protest you could (It isn't like there is a religion police or anything) , but be aware, since they are in control of everything you are allowed to do...... you might not like what they keep you from being able to do. The consequences for your actions could be bigger than you want to pay. It would just be easier to go until you are out of their house or they are ready to let you make your choice.
They might be able to coerce you into going, but they can not force you to believe. God wants you to make up your own mind about that.

Of course they can, just like they can force you to practice piano or go to a family reunion. That is, until you are 18. But then, when you are 18, they are not forced to support you financially anymore, and they are not legally responsible for your actions.

No, they cannot force you to go to church, but they can eat out while they are gone to church without feeding you. They can take light bulbs from your room and make you use a lantern. LOL

Honor your Mother and Father, up to a certain age your parent are responsible for your up bring, teach how to act and manners, but also the faith. Once you reach that age then it is up to you on what you are going to do with it, that is the gift of free will God has given us. God would like for you to honor him but is not going to force, at the same time he is not going to destroy yourself eventually something big is going to happen and you will have your conversion. Speaking from experience listen to moms and pops especially on this matter.

Mine did. They used all manner of threats up until I was 18. After that since they could no longer force me to go to their church they threw me out of the house refused to pay my college expenses causing me to lose a scholarship and to add insult to injury they invited me over to watch them give my college fund to my sister.

As long as you are under the age of 18 they can.
EDIT: When I was younger there were times I did not want to go to church and my parents made me. I am so glad now that they did. Otherwise I might not have the relationship with Jesus I now enjoy.

As long as you live under their roof, right or wrong it's their authority. I'm so glad my Dad was an Atheist and we rarely went to church with my Mom. I had it made.

They shouldn't have to. Of course, now days it's soooo fashionable to dishonor your parents. But, like the first responder wrote, if you're under 18, well,- so sorry. Now get your butt to church, kid.
