What else is going on in their lives? It sounds like the only thing that counts is you. Are you really that small? So what is the big deal about your birthday. I didn't wish you a happy birthday either, what does that make me, maybe I was busy trying to find a way to pay the bills since I am the only surviving parent. If this is the most traject thing that you will suffer in life then you are truely blessed.pp

How old are they, are they getting up in years, if so as we get older, we tend to forget things. Not saying that they don't love, they may be starting to forget little things. It hurt my feelings, when my father forgot what day my birthday was,he thought it was a earlier, he sent me a card too early. Then I realized that he is in his 80's, and I should have been proud that he remembered at all.Sometimes we have to let things slide.

I do not worry about it. I will call her around the time of the kids birthdays so she can talk with them, however we do not ask for anything to be bought for the kids.
My mother is 70 something years old and she dose not remember so good anymore.

My mother forgets my birthday all the time, and I don't think my stepfather even knows when my birthday is! He doesn't even know how old I am for that matter.
My mom forgets my anniversary, too! lol It doesn't bother me, because I'm not the type to remember all these things either. In fact, both hubby and I forgot our anniversary this year. It was about midnight and my husband turned to me and said, "What's the date today?" I said "November 15th. *long pause* Oh, um, happy anniversary." He laughed at me. It was cute.

I'm with Shayna on this one. I forget my wedding anniversary every year. It's just not important. As for Birthdays. Yeah it would be nice if your parent remembered, but seriously if you know they are stupid you should give them a heads up a few days in advance or physically write it on their calender. Yes it is harsh but then I remember my Dad didn't know what school I went to. He gave me a ride and finally got it right at the third school. Parents are idiots.

Hey!! It happens. After all, we are human. Years ago I forgot my girlfriends birthday, and she was pissed. I don't blame her for being pissed either, cuz her birthday was the day BEFORE my birthday.
