For this answer, I'm answering in MY point of view, so bear with me; shall we begin?
God cannot be seen, and that's probably a good thing (God acts on our faith; if we knew something to be true, then no one would go to Hell, right? It'd be la de da de da oh look we're in Heaven. But that doesn't let us learn or grow in God, it's just giving us an answer key.) because we can all benefit from that and give personal experiences on how God has acted on our lives. Yes, you can't see him. But you can't see your cells, do they exist? No one has ever seen an atom; do they exist? How about the wind (NO wait, you can feel the wind! That's right! There are clues about things that seem invisible ALL AROUND YOU)?
Okay, the Bible has a lot of explanation. First of all, it all makes sense; every prophesy was fuffilled and there are many accounts of what happened and eye witnesses (not to mention the death and ressurection of Christ is the most recorded fact in history)

That is probably the biggest question and challenge on these forums. Aside from the Bible there is nothing that was "written" by the hand of God so there is no physical proof that He exists. Sure he could - I will not dispute that possibility, but until someone comes up with a better explaination than "My book says it is true and He must exist because these words are His inspiration" (aka making a definition using the term you're defining in the definition - can't do it) I'm going to stick with the I don't think He exists idea, and agree with the big bang theory, theory of evolution and the rules of scientific discovery for my knowledge.
Edit: In addition I'm not above the thought of "miracles" though. There are a lot of things that science cannot explain (however I'm not going to the God bit again - I've explained my point there) such as miracle babies surviving (my sister shouldn't be alive for instance but she's now 18 years old) and people surviving horrible accidents, etc.

First understand that god and the bible have nothing in common. Actually less than nothing. The bible is a violent book intended to inspire fear, subjugate women, and make a man worry about his foreskin. This is easily verified by reading it. Religion also has nothing to do with God. In the western tradition at least, its simply a way of codifying dogma to extract money from you. Yes many of them believe there own delusions, but the bottom line is power over you and your purse. Still, there is hope. There is a God. It is not the God of the Christian bible, and in specifics, quite beyond any human mind as any God worthy of the title should be. It is just that thing that is. The Buddhists have probably come closer to capturing the essence of God than anyone else. Since this is Yahoo answers and needs to be somewhat brief, I summarize how God came to be. There existed in the beginning of the universe a statical chance for the existence of God. You might call this the potential of God, and say it existed as an unenergized possibility even before the universe itself. Unless what we perceive is hallucination (something that can't be ruled out) there was a beginning of this iteration of the universe. At some point thereafter, the God function was realized. There was really no avoiding it as even the most remote of possibilities have to be accounted for in the quantum physics that resulted from creation. Once collapsed, this function, because of its very nature and description, becomes completely self fulfilling. It is the 'just that' of everything, and neither bad nor good, but rather an eternal duality that keeps all in balance. And please, don't short change God in your thinking. There are uncountable universes beyond this one, then uncountable ones beyond those. All things are ultimately realized and the truth lies even beyond that. Now that's a God worthy of the name.

I am not a Christian. I don't believe in the bible. But I do believe in God. I wanna tell you a story:
20 years ago, a baby was born. When she was born, she wasn't breathing. She went several minutes witthout oxygen until she was put on a vent. 8 weeks later this baby is diagnosed with an extremely rare disorder. The doctor told her parents that she would never walk, never eat, never talk, and never smile. They were also told that this baby would only live 3 to 5 years.
20 years later...this baby is alive. She is eagerly getting ready for her 21st bday. And guess what? She can eat, she can talk, and she can smile. She can't walk, but she doesn't mind using a wheelchair. Doctors are baffled. Science can't explain what happend.
Can you guess who this baby is?

Read "The Case For Faith" by Lee Strobel. He asked a lot of the same questions you did. Then when you read it, come back to this forum and we can discuss it some more.
The best explanation of God? Creator, Sustainer, Counselor, Friend, and so much more. If you could and would open your heart to His love, what a difference that would make.

You have drawn the correct conclusion, there is no god and the bible is false. It is not -- "what has god done" -- its -- "what has god not done". In the WW2 holocaust, millions of people were tortured and murdered by (of all things) atheists (Nazis). God could not even find enough love to even save an innocent child nevermind all the devout people that were slaughtered. What better time for him to show himself and use a couple of well placed lightning bolts.
In Iraq, Shia and Sunnis murder and torture each other in the worst way they can think of. God does not help any of them.
The list goes on and on. How can anybody possibly say "god loves you" when he doesn't give a rat's ***.
God, humbug

I know that the wind exists, but I cannot see it. I know that UV rays exist, yet I can't see them. I choose to have faith in my beliefs. Tis better to believe in something than nothing at all my friend. Tis better to believe in HIM and be saved then die & end up in hell for eternity. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'd rather live believing in my Savior.

Yeah, you can't believe everything that's written on it coz you've never even read it completely. Read first before you complain!
